NHL Hockey Player News

Quick will start Saturday vs. the Sabres.

Quick allowed four goals on 37 shots in the Kings’ loss to Calgary on Thursday. Quick has gone 2-0-1 with a 1.66 GAA and .948 SV% in his first three starts of the season. Tonight he will take on a Sabres team that is struggling to score goals—averaging 2.25 goals for per game.

Jonathan Quick
Dell will make his first start of the season on Saturday vs. the Islanders.

Dell stopped all nine shots he faced in relief during the Sharks’ loss to the Kings last Saturday. Martin Jones has not been great to start the year, so Dell will get his first start of the year tonight. The 28-year-old went 11-6-1 with a 2.00 GAA and .931 SV% and one shutout.

Aaron Dell
Luongo is expected to start Saturday in Pittsburgh.

Luongo allowed two goals on 39 shots in the Panthers’ win over the Blues on Thursday. His second start was much better than his first, but he may have a tough time doubling his win total tonight as the Panthers travel to Pittsburgh. The Penguins are one of the more dominant offences in the NHL, making Luongo a risky option tonight.

Roberto Luongo
Talbot will start Saturday vs. the Senators.

Talbot allowed five goals on 43 shots in the Oilers loss to the Jets on Tuesday. After posting a shutout in his first start of the season, Talbot has now given up a combined eight goals on the last 50 shots (.840 SV%) that he has faced. Tonight he faces a Senators team that has averaged 3.25 goals per game without Erik Karlsson.

Cam Talbot
Bobrovsky will start Saturday in Minnesota.

Bobrovsky stopped 38 of 39 shots in the Blue Jackets’ win over the Rangers last night. It was another stellar outing for Bobrovsky, who has stopped 103 of 105 shots (.981 SV%) that he has faced so far this season. Bobrovsky draws a strong start on no rest as the Wild come into tonight extremely banged up up front.

Sergei Bobrovsky
Darling will start Saturday in Winnipeg.

Darling allowed two goals on 27 shots in the Hurricanes’ overtime loss to Columbus on Tuesday. Through his first two starts with the Hurricanes, Darling has allowed six goals on 54 shots (.889 SV%) and tonight he will make his first start on the road—Winnipeg is averaging 3.50 goals per game right now.

Scott Darling
Vasilevskiy will start Saturday vs. St. Louis.

Vasilevskiy gave up four goals on 40 shots in the Lightning’s win over the Penguins on Thursday. Vasilevskiy’s numbers don’t say it, but he has arguably been the Lightning’s best player thus far. Tonight he makes his fifth straight start and he comes in at 3-1-0 with a 3.74 GAA and .900 SV%.
