Due to injuries, Claesson has dress in a career-high 19 games this season, recording five assists, 11 shots, 21 hits and five blocked shots. Claesson could be a full-time part of the Senators blueline next season.
Smith was bumped into by Ducks’ winger Jakob Silfverberg and it knocked his mask off. A spotter pulled Smith from the game, which led to Marek Langhamer’s NHL debut. The rookie stopped all seven shots that he faced to preserve the victory and head coach Dave Tippett said Smith is “fine.”
Zadorov was hurt during Monday’s practice when he got tangled up with forward Mikko Rantanen. Zadorov took some nice strides in his second season in Colorado. He was playing more than he ever has in his young career, averaging over 19 minutes per night and totalled 10 assists in 56 games. Cody Goloubef will replace him in the lineup on Tuesday.
Montour was a healthy scratch on Sunday, but will draw back into the lineup tonight in Arizona. Montourhas one goal, one assist and is averaging 1.90 shots on goal per game in his first 11 games of the season.
Trouba had a high-hit on Stone on Sunday and will miss this Tuesday’s game vs. Toronto and next Tuesday’s game vs. the Wild as a result. Stone left the game with an injury and did not return. Julian Melchiori will fill in for Trouba, unless Toby Enstrom is suddenly ready to return.
Stone had his best offensive season of his career in 2015-16, but has struggled in 2016-17. Stone has just one goal and eight assists (nine points) in 45 games, but heads to Calgary where he will likely serve as their sixth defenseman. The Coyotes will retain 50 percent of Stone’s salary and the condition on the fifth round pick is based on whether or not the Flames re-sign Stone.
Davidson has recorded one just one assist in 25 games this season and will be replaced by Kris Russell, who returns from a lower-body injury tomorrow.
Russell has missed the last five games with a lower-body injury, but will replace Brandon Davidson in the lineup on Tuesday. Russell has just five assists in 47 games this season.
Zadorov reportedly got tangled up with Mikko Rantanen at practice and had to be helped off of the ice with an apparent lower-body injury. Expect and update on Zadorov’s status over the next 24 hours.
McKegg was in the lineup for the last two games, but will be a healthy scratch for the fifth time in seven games tonight in St. Louis. McKegg will be replaced by Michael Sgarbossa.
Sgarbossa was a healthy scratch for the last two games, but will replace Greg McKregg in the lineup tonight. Sgarbossa has two goals and four assists (six points) in 19 games with the Panthers this season.
Domingue missed the morning skate because of a lower-body injury and will leave the backup duties to Marek Langhamer for the second straight game. He is considered day-to-day.
Smith surrendered four goals on 33 shots in the Coyotes’ win over the Sharks on Saturday. Smith has won three of his last four starts while allowing a combined 10 goals on 144 shots (.931 SV%). Tonight he’ll make his second start of the season vs. the Ducks—he allowed three goals on 35 shots in a 3-2 OT loss in the first meeting.
Green missed both of the Red Wings’ games over the weekend, but it looks like he’ll be back in the lineup vs. the Islanders on Tuesday. Green is no Brent Burns, but he is tied for sixth among defensemen with 10 goals this season.
Reimer stopped 35 of 36 shots in the Panthers’ win in Anaheim on Friday. Roberto Luongo started on Saturday, but they’ll get back to Reimer tonight in St. Louis. Reimer has allowed just six goals on the last 107 shots (.944 SV%), but will be in tough against a Blues team that has won six of seven.
Stepan was given a maintenance day this morning, but head coach Alain Vigneault said he is “probable” for tomorrow’s game vs. the Canadiens. Monitor Stepan’s status during their morning skate tomorrow.
Nurse has been sidelined by an ankle injury since December 1st, but is on the Oilers’ current road-trip, but will miss both games of their back-to-back in Florida on Tuesday and Wednesday. Monitor his status later in the week.
Stastny has missed the last four games with a lower-body injury, but will return to the lineup vs. the Panthers. Stastny will skate with Alex Steen and Vladimir Tarasenko tonight and comes into play with 15 goals and 20 assists (35 points) in 54 games this season.
The Senators lost Bobby Ryan long-term and Mark Stone, Mike Hoffman and Tommy Wingels all left last night’s game with injuries. Bailey has 14 goals and nine assists (23 points) in 44 games with Binghamton this season and just one goal in 11 career NHL games.
