Galchenyuk (knee) will not play on Tuesday.

Galchenyuk previously missed 18 games with a knee injury and has reportedly re-aggravated it and will not play on Tuesday. The injury is believed to have occurred on Saturday vs. the Sabres and the Canadiens are calling it a “minor injury” to the same knee. Head coach Michel Therrien added that Galchenyuk did not come back too soon and is day-to-day.

Alex Galchenyuk
Pickard will start Wednesday in Vancouver.

Pickard allowed two goals on 36 shots in Colorado’s loss in Anaheim last Thursday. Spencer Martin started the last two games, but Pickard will go tonight vs. the Canucks. Pickard is 1-3-0 with a 2.48 GAA and .925 SV% in January and tonight he faces Vancouver for the third time—he’s gone 0-1-1 with a 2.43 GAA and .909 SV% in the first two.

Calvin Pickard
Hutton will start Tuesday in Pittsburgh.

Hutton allowed three goals on eight shots after replacing Jake Allen in the Blues’ loss to the Capitals last Thursday. Hutton has gone 3-2-0 with a 2.59 GAA and .897 SV% in January and tonight he draws a tough assignment in Pittsburgh. He has gone 2-3-0 with a 2.61 GAA and .894 SV% on the road this season.

Carter Hutton
Bernier was actually the first goalie off of the ice.

Bernier allowed four goals on 20 shots after replacing John Gibson in Saturday’s loss in Minnesota. Gibson was on the ice for the morning skate, but Bernier was the first off, which suggests he goes tonight in Winnipeg. Bernier has struggled to a 4-4-0 record by posting a 3.57 GAA and .882 SV% in nine starts and three relief appearances on the road.

Jonathan Bernier
Price will start Tuesday vs. the Flames.

Price allowed three goals on 38 shots in the Canadiens’ loss to the Sabres on Saturday. Price has lost three in a row and five of his last six while posting a 3.83 GAA and .872 SV%. Price has struggled a lot recently, but has played very well on home ice this season—going 15-5-3 with a 2.22 GAA and .926 SV%.

Carey Price
Martin will start Monday vs. the Sharks.

Martin gave up three goals on 30 shots in an overtime loss in his NHL debut in San Jose on Saturday. It was a pretty good debut for the 21-year-old, who will get another crack at the Sharks tonight. Despite playing well on Saturday, it is difficult to trust a rookie netminder against an offence with as much firepower as San Jose possesses.

Spencer Martin
Pavelec will start Monday vs. the Ducks.

Pavelec allowed three goals on 37 shots in the Jets’ win over the Blues on Saturday. Pavelec has won each of his first two starts since being recalled from Manitoba (AHL). He has allowed a combined six goals on 70 shots (.914 SV%) and will make his third consecutive start tonight. Anaheim comes in having won five of their last seven.

Ondrej Pavelec
Ellott will start Monday in Toronto.

Elliott allowed three goals on 26 shots after replacing Chad Johnson in the Flames’ blowout loss to the Oilers on Saturday. Tonight will be Elliott’s 21st start of the season—while he’s been largely ineffective this season, he has posted a 2.19 GAA and .908 SV% in his last nine appearances, dating back to December 14th.

Brian Elliott
Puempel (concussion) is expected to return to the Rangers lineup on Monday.

Puempel has missed the last eight games with a concussion, but was cleared to play Sunday in Detroit. After serving as a healthy scratch yesterday, Puempel will replace Kevin Hayes (lower-body), who was hurt vs. the Red Wings. Puempel has scored five goals and one assist (six points) in 13 games since being claimed by the Rangers.

Matt Puempel
Drew Miller has cleared waivers and been assigned to Grand Rapids (AHL).

Miller was a healthy scratch for the last two games with Darren Helm back in the lineup. Miller has five goals and one assist in 34 games this season and could be called back up for Tuesday’s game with both Thomas Vanek (lower-body) and Dylan Larkin (upper-body) out.

Drew Miller
Kulikov (back) returned to practice on Monday.

Kulikov has been out since December 27th, but returned to practice on Monday, which suggests that he could be back by the time the Sabres’ return from the All-Star break. Expect him to miss Tuesday and Thursday’s game before the break, but monitor his status as the week progresses just to be sure.

Dmitry Kulikov
Grubauer will start Tuesday in Ottawa.

Grubauer allowed three goals on 35 shots in the Capitals’ win in Dallas on Saturday. Braden Holtby started last night, so Grubauer will go tonight in Ottawa. This will be Grubauer’s fifth appearance in January—to this point he is 3-0-1 with a 2.57 GAA and .908 SV% this month. He is also 5-1-2 with a 2.66 GAA and .907 SV% on the road.

Philipp Grubauer
The Kings will not hold a morning skate on Monday.

The Kings never confirm their goaltender until warmups anyways, but we won’t have any indication on who starts prior to warmups at 6:30 p.m. ET. Budaj has started seven in a row and has lost three in a row and because the Kings have back-to-back games tonight and tomorrow, Jeff Zatkoff will likely get one of the two games.
