Price will start Saturday vs. the Capitals.

Price allowed two goals on 23 shots in the Canadiens’ loss in Philadelphia on Thursday. Dating back to December 23rd, Price is 5-7-3 with a 3.06 GAA (37th) and .902 SV% (t-32nd). Those are very un-Price-like numbers as you can see by where they rank in the NHL over that span—he’s a goalie who is typically found in the top-10 if not the top-5.

Carey Price
Rask is expected to start Saturday despite missing Friday's practice.

Rask allowed five goals on 22 shots in the Bruins’ 5-3 loss in Washington on Wednesday. Rask missed yesterday’s practice because of a groin problem, but he skated this morning and is expected to be in net vs. the Leafs. In his first start against the Maple Leafs, Rask allowed three goals on 19 shots in a 4-1 loss.

Tuukka Rask
Talbot will start Friday in Carolina.

Talbot allowed two goals on 27 shots in the Oilers’ loss in Nashville last night. It was a better outing than his game vs. the Wild on Tuesday, but he still ended up with the “L.” Tonight he will face the Hurricanes for the second time this season—he stopped 31 of 33 shots in a 3-2 win in the first meeting.

Cam Talbot
Gibson will start Friday in Florida.

Gibson allowed one goal on 29 shots in the Ducks’ win over the Avalanche on Tuesday. Gibson finished January with a great 8-2-1 record, 1.59 GAA, .946 SV% and two shutouts. Tonight he faces the Panthers, who will be getting two of their best forwards (Aleksander Barkov & Jonathan Huberdeau) back in the lineup.

John Gibson
Elliott will start Friday in New Jersey.

Elliott allowed one goal on 29 shots in the Flames’ win over the Wild on Wednesday. Elliott has won two in a row, while stopping 53 of 56 shots (.946 SV%) so tonight he’ll make his third consecutive start. Elliott has had a mostly difficult season, but he is playing well right now and should be a good option in New Jersey.

Brian Elliott
Neuvirth is expected to start Saturday vs. the Kings.

Neuvirth allowed one goal on 16 shots in the Flyers’ win over the Canadiens on Thursday. It was an easy night for Neuvirth, who has won his last two starts while turning aside 42 of 44 shots (.955 SV%). This afternoon he faces the Kings for the second time this season—he stopped 23 of 25 shots in a 4-2 win in his first start of the season.

Michal Neuvirth
Ward will be a game-time decision on Friday.

Ward was in the starter’s crease this morning, but left the gameday skate early so his status for tonight’s game remains uncertain. Head coach Bill Peters called his starting goalie a game-time decision, so it sounds like it will be Ward as long as he is good-to-go.

Cam Ward
Mrazek will start Friday vs. the Islanders.

Mrazek gave up four goals on 28 shots in the Red Wings’ loss to the Maple Leafs on January 25th. Mrazek has gone 6-6-2 with a 3.08 GAA and .890 SV% at Joe Louis Arena this season and despite winning his first start vs. the Islanders, they’re much improved right now and Mrazek is a risky option tonight.

Petr Mrazek
Reimer will start Friday vs. the Ducks.

Reimer allowed one goal on 32 shots in the Panthers’ win over the Lightning on before the All-Star break. Roberto Luongo started on Tuesday because Reimer and his wife were having a baby, but Reimer will be in tonight vs. the Ducks. The 28-year-old is 4-3-1 with a 2.47 GAA and .925 SV% on home-ice and tonight he’ll play behind a fully healthy Panthers team for the first time.

James Reimer
Murray will make his eighth straight start on Friday.

Murray allowed two goals on 39 shots in the Penguins’ win over the Predators on Tuesday. Murray has gone 5-2-0 in his previous seven starts while posting a 2.72 GAA and .916 SV%. Tonight he will face the Blue Jackets for the second time this season—he was pulled after allowing six goals on 23 shots in a 7-1 loss in the first meeting.

Matt Murray
Bobrovsky is expected to start Friday in Pittsburgh.

Bobrovsky allowed four goals on 32 shots in the Blue Jackets’ loss in Nashville before the All-Star break. Bobrovsky has lost his last two starts while allowing a combined eight goals on 56 shots (.857 SV%). He was victorious in his first start vs. the Penguins and comes into Pittsburgh at 11-5-2 with a 2.45 GAA and .914 SV% on the road this season.

Sergei Bobrovsky
Mrazek is in the starter's crease at the morning skate.

Petr Mrazek
Barkov (upper-body) will return to the Panthers lineup on Friday.

Barkov has been sidelined since December 28th, but will return to the Panthers’ top line tonight. In addition to Barkov, Jonathan Huberdeau will make his season debut which is huge for Barkov. They played together a ton last season and should be reunited tonight. Before getting hurt, Barkov had nine goals and 18 assists (27 points) in 36 games.
