Holtby allowed three goals on 25 shots in the Capitals loss to the Rangers on Saturday. Holtby has won two of his four starts while posting a 1.98 GAA and .924 SV%. Holtby is one of the best fantasy options on any given night, but tonight he takes on the 5-1-0 Oilers who are averaging 3.83 goals per game in the first two weeks of the season.
Talbot stopped all 31 shots in the Oilers win in the Heritage Classic in Winnipeg on Sunday. Talbot was the NHL’s first star having won three in a row while stopping 96 of 99 shots (.970 SV%). Talbot has had a great start to the year, winning five of six starts with a 2.75 GAA and .919 SV%. Despite the hot start, he draws a rough matchup vs. the Capitals tonight.
Luongo allowed two goals on 28 shots in the Panthers’ win over the Avalanche last Saturday. James Reimer started on Tuesday, so Luongo will face Reimer’s former team tonight in Toronto. Luongo has won three of four while posting a 1.99 GAA and .922 SV%. The Maple Leafs have averaged 3.50 goals per game to start the season, but it looks like they’re all offence.
Andersen allowed seven goals on 24 shots in the Maple Leafs’ 7-3 loss to the Lightning on Tuesday. It was another ugly outing for Andersen, who is now 1-1-3 with a 4.29 GAA and .851 SV% in his first five starts with the Maple Leafs. Despite his struggles, Mike Babcock will go back to Andersen tonight vs. Florida. The Panthers are 3-2-1, but have dropped three of their last four.
Domingue allowed three goals on 26 shots in the Coyotes’ loss in New York on Sunday. Domingue has yet to win in four appearances this season, while posting an ugly 5.03 GAA and .851 SV% so far this season. Kreider is dealing with a neck strain and will miss his second straight game on Wednesday. Monitor his status leading up to Friday’s game vs. the Hurricanes.
Buchnevich will miss his fifth consecutive game with a back injury, but he reportedly worked very hard in practice on Wednesday and is expected to return to the lineup on Friday. Buchnevich has one assist and four shots in two games this season.
Miller missed Tuesday’s practice but was on the ice for the morning skate and will be in the lineup on Wednesday. Miller had one goal and seven shots after being moved into the top-6 because of Chris Kreider’s injury. He makes for a solid daily choice tonight vs. the Bruins.
McIntyre stopped 15 of 17 shots after replacing Malcolm Subban in the Bruins’ 5-0 loss to the Wild last night. It was a fairly impressive relief effort for McIntyre, who will make his first career NHL start tonight. McIntyre draws a rough matchup against the 4-2-0 Rangers, who will start Henrik Lundqvist tonight.
Hudler has missed the last four games with an illness, but he returned to practice on Wednesday and could be ready to return on Thursday in Winnipeg. The Stars are banged up, so Hudler’s return would be a welcomed return.
It is believed that Getzlaf injured his forearm while blocking a shot. Getzlaf, who was eight points (1G / 7A) in seven games is questionable for Wednesday’s game vs. the Predators.
Czarnik, 23, started the season with the Bruins, but failed to record a point in two games. After being returned to the AHL, Czarnik picked up one goal and two assists in two games. He is expected to draw into the lineup on Wednesday because David Backes (elbow) is out.
Backes underwent the removal of the olecranon bursa from his elbow on Monday and will be re-evaluated after the weekend, which means he will miss tonight’s game vs. the Rangers and Saturday’s game against the Red Wings. With Backes out, the Bruins have recalled Austin Czarnik from Providence (AHL).
Greiss allowed three goals on 29 shots in the Islanders win over the Wild on Sunday. He has only started two of the first six games, but will get his second start in a row tonight vs. the Canadiens. Montreal has yet to lose in regulation, but Greiss was really strong on home-ice last year, going 14-4-3 with a 2.21 GAA and .926 SV%.
