The Ducks have placed Simon Despres (concussion) on long-term injured reserve.

Despres, who has a $3.7 million cap-hit has been moved to LTIR to help create some cap flexibility for the Ducks, who are still trying to sign Hampus Lindholm. Despres is dealing with concussion issues and there’s not timetable for his return.

Greiss will start Sunday vs. the Wild.

Thomas Greiss
Smith is week-to-week with a lower-body injury.

Smith will miss his third consecutive game tonight and is expected to miss a couple of weeks with a lower-body injury that he suffered on Tuesday. With Smith out, the Coyotes will continue to roll with Louis Domingue and Justin Peters in goal.

Mike Smith
Girardi (groin) is expected to return to the lineup on Sunday.

Girardi has missed the last three games with a groin injury, but it looks like he will return tonight vs. the Coyotes. Girardi has one assist in two games and will replace Adam Clendening in the lineup.

Dan Girardi
Domingue will start Sunday in New York.

Domingue allowed three goals on 31 shots in the Coyotes’ loss in Brooklyn on Friday. Domingue has struggled since taking over for Mike Smith on Tuesday—he is 0-2-0 with a 6.24 GAA and .836 SV%. He draws another tough matchup tonight against a Rangers team that is 3-2-0 while averaging 3.80 goals per game.

Louis Domingue
Hellebuyck will start the Heritage Classic on Sunday.

Hellebuyck allowed three goals on 24 shots in the Jets loss to the Bruins on Monday. The Jets’ goalie rotation will continue, which means that Hellebuyck will start today’s outdoor game in Winnipeg. Ryan Miller
Budaj will start Saturday vs. the Canucks.
