Allen started every game while Brian Elliott was out, but Elliott has returned to post three consecutive shutouts, but Allen will start on the tail-end of a back-to-back. He has allowed a combined nine goals in his last two starts and draws a tough matchup vs. the NHL’s top team.
Elliott stopped all 37 shots that he faced in the Blues shutout win over the Sharks on Tuesday. After missing nearly one month with a lower-body injury, Elliott returned to the crease to post back-to-back shutouts, stopping all 56 shots that he has faced. He draws an excellent matchup tonight against a Vancouver team that has lost six straight games while averaging just 0.83 goals per game.
Pavelec stopped all 28 shots that he faced in the Jets 2-0 shutout win over the Canucks on Tuesday. It was as great outing for Pavelec, who had allowed eight combined goals in his two previous starts. He is 3-5-0 with a 2.66 GAA and .910 SV% in eight starts since returning to the Jets’ crease in March. In his first start vs. L.A, he allowed two goals on 30 shots in a 4-1 loss.
Quick allowed two goals on 18 shots in the Kings loss in Minnesota on Tuesday. He has had a rough start to the week, losing both starts while allowing a combined five gaols on 45 shots (.889 SV%). He has not faced the Jets this season, but has gone 16-8-2 with a 2.07 GAA and .932 SV% in 26 starts on the road this year.
Mason allowed two goals on 53 shots in the Flyers shootout loss in Columbus on Tuesday. Mason could start every game for the rest of the season with Michal Neuvirth out and it has gotten off to a great start. He is 5-1-2 with a 1.97 GAA and .931 SV% in March and tonight he draws a strong matchup vs. a shorthanded Avalanche team.
Lehtonen gave up two goals on 32 shots in the Stars win in Chicago on Tuesday. Lehtonen has won his last three starts while posting a 1.67 GAA, .937 SV% and one shutout. He has had a really strong month, going 6-1-1 in eight March starts and tonight he starts in Arizona—he is 11-3-2 with a 2.78 GAA and .912 SV% o the road this season.
Talbot allowed three goals on 30 shots in the Oilers loss in Arizona on Tuesday. Tonight will be Talbot’s 10th start in March—he has gone 6-3-0 with a 1.88 GAA and .941 SV% in the first nine. Tonight he faces the Sharks for the third time this season—he is 0-1-1 with a 1.92 GAA and .932 SV% in the first two meeting between the two teams.
Dubnyk allowed one goal on 39 shots in the Wild’s win over the Kings on Tuesday. Dubnyk has won three in a row and is playing his best hockey of the season in March. He is 7-1-1 with a 2.31 GAA and .921 SV% in 10 starts this month and tonight he will look to extend his winning streak versus a Flames team that has played .500 hockey over their last 10 games.
Rinne allowed two goals on 30 shots in the Predators win over the Kings on Monday. Rinne has won three in a row and five of his last six starts while posting a 2.18 GAA and .923 SV%. Tonight he will make his third start vs. the Canucks—he has gone 1-1-0 with a 2.63 GAA and .912 SV% in the first two meetings.
Domingue stopped 34 of 35 shots in the Coyotes loss to the Lightning last Saturday. With Mike Smith back, Domingue has sat in four of the last five games, but will start tonight vs. the Stars. He is 10-8-3 with a 2.49 GAA and .918 SV% on home ice this season and stopped 36 of 39 shots in a 6-3 win in his first start against Dallas.
Reimer stopped all 25 shots that he faced in the Sharks shutout win over the Coyotes on Sunday. Reimer lost his first start with the Sharks, but has won three since while posting a 0.67 GAA, .975 SV% and two shutouts. Tonight he faces an Oilers team that has lost four of their last six games while being outscored 18-14.
