Ward allowed three goals on 24 shots in the Hurricanes loss in New Jersey last Tuesday. Eddie Lack started the last two games but Ward will go tonight. Ward was 4-3-0 with a 2.49 GAA and .905 SV% in December and tonight will be his second start of the season vs. Edmonton—Ward stopped 30 of 31 shots in a 4-1 win in their first meeting.
Markstrom made 27 saves on 28 shots in the Canucks victory over the Ducks on Friday. He will start his fifth consecutive game and comes in having won four of his last five while posting a 1.93 GAA and .937 SV%. Markstrom is playing much better than he did earlier in the year and tonight he faces a Coyotes team that has lost three of five while giving up an average of 3.60 goals per game.
Despite getting hurt on Saturday, it looks like Prust will still be in the lineup tonight vs. the Coyotes. With Prust likely playing, Ronalds Kenins is expected to come out.

Hudler left Saturday’s game with a lower-body injury. He did not skate on Monday and definitely will not play on Tuesday. He will be reevaluated on Monday afternoon and more information on his injury should be released in the next 24 hours.
Deslauriers suffered the injury in Saturday’s loss to the Red Wings, but finished the game. The injury will keep him out until late January, early February.
Tennyson had been assigned to the Barracuda on a conditioning assignment. Tennyson, 25, has appeared in 23 games with San Jose this season, scoring one goal and two assists. In three games with the Barracuda, Tennyson recorded seven shots on goal.

Clarkson played just 3:46 TOI on Saturday after leaving the game due to an upper-body injury. Clarkson has been unable to stay healthy all season, suiting up for just 18 games to this point. With Clarkson out, look for Jared Boll to play on Tuesday.
Hammond allowed two goals on 20 shots in the Senators loss to the Devils on Wednesday. Craig Anderson got the nod last night, so Hammond will start the second game of the back-to-back set. He has not recorded a win since November 12th and comes into play at 2-3-2 with a 2.42 GAA and .923 SV% on the season.
Carlson will travel with the team on their road trip, but will not play tomorrow against the Bruins. Carlson skated this morning which is a great sign, so look for him to join the team later in the week and monitor his status prior to Thursday’s contest.
Bodnarchuk appeared in 16 games with the Blue Jackets when their blueline was battling injury issues, but he has been a healthy scratch in the last three games and with David Savard back, Bodnarchuk finds himself on waivers for purpose of assignment.

After a lengthy winning streak, Condon has now won two in a row while stopping 63 of 67 shots (.940 SV%). Tonight he will face the Devils for the third time this season—he is 1-0-1 with a 2.35 GAA and .914 SV% in the first two games.
Scrivens made 27 saves on 30 shots in the Canadiens loss in Florida on December 29th. It was a so-so Montreal debut for Scrivens, who got a free trip to the Winter Classic after being acquired from Edmonton. Tonight Scrivens draws a nice matchup against the Flyers, who have lost three straight and rank 28th in the NHL with 2.06 goals per game on home ice.
