Bishop was brilliant on Wednesday, stopping 37 of 38 shots in the Lightning’s 2-1 shootout win over the Kings. Bishop has been fantastic recently, winning three in a row while allowing just two goals on 89 shots (.978 SV%). With Andrei Vasilevskiy starting last night, look for Bishop to go tonight vs. the Islanders.
Quick stopped 29 of 30 shots, but walked away on the wrong side of a 2-1 shootout final in Tampa Bay on Wednesday. Quick has gone 4-4-1 with a 2.51 GAA and .909 SV% in nine November starts. Tonight he will make his second start against the Blackhawks—he allowed four goals on 26 shots in a 4-2 loss in the first meeting.
Mrazek allowed three goals on 22 shots in the Red Wings overtime loss to the Bruins on Wednesday. Mrazek has lost three of his last four while posting a 2.48 GAA and .915 SV%. This afternoon he will take on a Panthers team that has also lost three of four while being outscored 14-8.
Bobrovsky allowed one goal on 25 shots in the Blue Jackets win over the Penguins last night. Bobrovsky has now won six of his last seven starts while posting a 1.42 GAA and .949 SV%. This is the Bobrovsky we expected to see coming into the 2015-16 season. This will be his second start vs. the Blues—he stopped 19 of 20 in a 3-1 win on November 17th.
Mason allowed two goals on 35 shots in the Flyers loss in Brooklyn on Wednesday. Mason has lost four straight games despite posting a strong 2.19 GAA and .929 SV%. Much of that can be blamed on the lack of offence—the Flyers have scored just two goals in front of him in those contests.
Alex Petrovic won’t be available for Saturday’s game vs. the Red Wings, so Olsen has been recalled to make his season debut. Olsen has one goal and one assist in nine games with Portland this season.
With Justin Schultz ready to return to the Oilers lineup on Saturday, the Oilers have sent Reinhart back to Bakersfield. Reinhart has played well with the Oilers but is the victim of a numbers game.
Schneider gave up two goals on 27 shots in the Devils loss to the Canadiens last night. Despite the loss, Schneider will go again tonight, this time in Montreal. Schneider has allowed two goals in three consecutive games, winning one of them. He comes in with a 1.89 GAA and .935 SV% in nine starts this month.
Holtby allowed two goals on 34 shots in the Capitals win over the Lightning last night. Holtby will start both games of the back-to-back and draws a good matchup tonight in Toronto. In his first start against the Maple Leafs, Holtby stopped 23 of 25 in a 3-2 shootout win.
Reimer’s injury was suffered in practice earlier in the week, but it was not believed to be serious. Despite taking part in Friday’s practice, he was held off of the ice this morning and will not play tonight vs. the Capitals. Jonathan Bernier will start and Garret Sparks has been recalled to serve as the backup.
Bernier allowed four goals on 30 shots in the Maple Leafs loss in New York on November 15th. With James Reimer likely out with a lower-body injury, look for Bernier to start vs. the Capitals. It has been a struggle for Bernier, who sits at 0-7-1 with a 3.17 GAA and .895 SV%. Tonight’s matchup vs. the Capitals will make it difficult for him to register his first win.
Bourque left Friday’s game after suffering an upper-body injury. He played just 4:33 before retiring to the dressing room. He is questionable for Saturday’s game as the Predators forward depth continues to be tested by injuries. If he can’t play, look for the Predators to recall a forward.
Hickey has missed the last 15 games with a left injury, but was activated from IR and is expected to be back in the lineup on Saturday. Hickey has two goals in four games this season.
