Hutton allowed four goals on 28 shots in the Predators’ 4-2 loss in Anaheim back on November 1st. Pekka Rinne has started all but two games this season, leaving little to do for Hutton, who is 1-1-0 with a 3.44 GAA and .899 SV%. He draws a good spot-start matchup tonight, but unless the Predators can score (they’ve been shutout in three straight), he isn’t going to find the win column.
The Bruins would not confirm a goalie tonight, but Gustavsson was the first off the ice. He allowed two goals on 26 shots in a win over the Wild last Thursday. He has been a great back up to Tuukka Rask this season, going 4-1-0 with a 2.20 GAA and .914 SV% in five games. Tonight it looks like he will face his former team in Detroit. Despite scoring woes at the start of the year, Detroit has won three of four while averaging 3.00 goals per game.
Quick stopped 33 of 34 shots in the Kings win in Florida on Monday. It was a nice bounce back after being yanked the day before. Quick has gone 4-2-0 with a 2.45 GAA and .919 SV% on the road this season.
Miller allowed three goals on 29 shots in the Canucks win over Chicago last Saturday. Jacob Markstrom started on Sunday, so no it’s no surprise that Miller will go tonight in Minnesota. There are two things that make Miller a scary play tonight. 1. He is 2-5-1 with a 3.03 GAA and .895 SV% in November. 2. He is 3-4-2 with a 2.54 GAA and .908 SV% on the road this season.
Bobrovsky gave up four goals in Columbus’ loss to San Jose on Sunday. The loss snapped Bobrovsky’s four-game winning streak and pushed him to 6-2-0 with a 2.01 GAA and .936 SV% in November. He has really turned things around and draws a nice matchup vs. the low-scoring Devils tonight. In his first start in New Jersey, he stopped 23 of 24 shots in a 3-1 win.
Lundqvist stopped all 31 shots that he faced for a 3-0 shutout over the Predators on Monday. The Rangers were outshout, much like they have all season long, but again, Lundqvist was equal to the task, preserving his league-leading 12th win of the season. Tonight he faces Carey Price and the Canadiens, in what should be an unreal goaltending battle.
