McElhinney allowed three goals on 33 shots in the Blue Jackets loss in Anaheim on November 6th. McElhinney has gone 0-3-0 with a 2.58 GAA and .912 SV% in three starts and two relief appearances this season. He is not a great option against a Senators team that ranks ninth in the NHL in goals per game (2.83).
Witkowski has four assists in 13 games with Syracuse this season. Witkowski failed to record a point in 16 games with the Lightning last season, but he is known for his rugged, aggressive style of play, not his offence.
Angelidis has three assists in 13 games with Syracuse this season. The career-long AHLer has one goal in 10 career NHL games but is expected to make his season debut on Thursday.
Taormina had one shot goal in 9:16 in his season debut on Monday. He has been sent back to Syracuse and Mike Angelidis has been recalled.
Bonino missed Tuesday’s game vs. the Wild but is expected to be in the lineup tonight vs. the Avalanche. Bonino will be back on the third line and comes in with three goals and one assist in 17 games.
Howden has appeared in 16 games this season, registering two goals and two assists but will come out of the lineup tonight vs. Anaheim. He will be replaced by Shawn Thornton.
Grimaldi has played in the last eight games, but will serve as a healthy scratch tonight after playing a season-low 9:07 TOI on Monday. Grimaldi registered just one goal and a minus-3 rating in those eight games. Expect him to be replaced by Garrett Wilson in tonight’s lineup.
Savin, 21, has seven assists in 14 games with Charlotte this season. The 2012 fourth round pick (120th overall) skated on the Hurricanes’ top pair with Justin Faulk in Thursday’s practice, so expect him to make his NHL debut on Friday.
Bishop gave up four goals on 23 shots in the Lightning’s loss to the Panthers on Saturday. Andrei Vasilevskiy started on Monday, but it looks like Bishop will go tonight vs. the Rangers. Bishop has gone 1-5-1 despite posting a 1.86 GAA and .932 SV% in his last seven games. Bishop will be tough tonight vs. a Rangers team that has won nine consecutive games.
Fleury allowed three goals on 29 shots in the Penguins win over the Wild on Tuesday. Fleury has gone 6-2-0 with a 2.00 GAA and .932 SV% in his last eight starts and draws a great matchup tonight vs. the Avalanche. Colorado sits at 7-10-1 on the year and Fleury has been solid at home—5-3-0 with a 2.26 GAA and .921 SV%.
Luongo stopped all 39 shots that he faced in the Panthers 1-0 shutout win over the Lightning on Monday. Luongo has won two in a row and three of his last four while posting a 2.48 GAA and .912 SV%. Luongo draws a strong matchup against a Ducks team still struggling—they enter play having lost four of their last five.
Gustavsson allowed three goals on 32 shots in the Bruins loss in Montreal on November 7th. It was his first loss of the season after winning his first three starts—overall he is 3-1-0 with a 2.25 GAA and .912 SV%. He draws a tough matchup tonight vs. a Wild team that is tied for fifth in the NHL with 3.00 goals per game.
Miller missed the last two games with a lower-body injury but will be back in the lineup tonight vs. Minnesota. Miller has one goal and six assists (seven points) in 14 games this season. Miller will replace Kevan Miller, who is out with an upper-body injury.
After serving a two game suspension, Landeskog will be back on the Avs’ top line with Nathan MacKinnon and Matt Duchene on Thursday. Landeskog’s return means less minutes for Mikhail Grigorenko—Colorado’s captain has 12 points (5G / 7A) in 16 games.
Callahan will be game-time decision for Thursday’s game vs. New York. If Callahan can’t play, look for Joel Vermin to make his NHL debut. Monitor Callahan’s status during the pre-game warmup.
Drouin was listed as doubtful for today’s game but head coach Jon Cooper confirmed this morning that Drouin will miss his second straight game with an undisclosed injury. Consider Drouin day-to-day.
Miller will not play on Thursday and is expected to miss at least four games with an upper-body injury. With Miller out tonight, Colin Miller will return after a two-game hiatus.
Petan served as a healthy scratch in the last two games and has only appeared in 14 of 20 games this season. Petan had just one goal in 14 games, so he heads to Manitoba for some more conditioning.
Anderson allowed four goals on 37 shots in the Senators OT loss to the Red Wings on Tuesday. Anderson has dropped his last three games while posting a 3.91 GAA and .890 SV%. On Thursday he will face a Blue Jackets team that has won three in a row, but will start Curtis McElhinney tonight instead of Sergei Bobrovsky.
Warsofsky has been recalled after the Penguins received news that Olli Maatta would be sidelined for 3-4 weeks. Warsofsky had six points (2G / 4A) in 13 games with WBS at the time of his call-up. He will not dress on Thursday.
