Anderson allowed seven goals on 38 shots in the Senators 7-5 loss to the Predators on Tuesday. Anderson has seen his GAA balloon up to 3.11 and he has allowed at least three goals in seven of his 11 starts this season. You might want to look elsewhere this afternoon because the Rangers come in winners of their last seven games.
Havlat requested to have his contract terminated for personal reasons and the Blues granted him that request. There is no word on why Havlat wants to leave the team.
Bogosian has missed the first 16 games of the season with a lower-body injury but returned to practice on Friday. Bogosian’s return suggests that Bogosian is nearing a return to the lineup. The Sabres are 8-8-0 so far this season, so getting Bogosian back could push them over the .500 hump.
Sutter missed Thursday’s game with an undisclosed injury and was not at practice this morning either, so his status for Saturday’s game remains up in the air. Monitor his status during Saturday’s morning skate.
Jones was yanked after allowed two goals on three shots in the Sharks 4-2 loss to the Islanders on Tuesday. Jones has really struggled as of late, losing three of four while posting a 3.71 GAA and .851 SV%. His overall numbers are still solid, but his recent stretch of games is alarming. Tonight he will face a Red Wings team that has won four of five despite only averaging 2.20 goals per game.
Bobrovsky allowed four goals on 29 shots in the Blue Jackets loss to the Canucks on Tuesday. The loss snapped a brief two-game winning streak for Bob. The 27-year-old netminder has a tough matchup in Pittsburgh tonight—he has gone 4-4-0 with a 2.78 GAA and .913 SV% on the road this season.
Murray was danced a few times on Tuesday and has posted a minus-4 rating in his last two games. Under old coaching, you likely wouldn’t see Murray getting scratched, but with John Tortorella at the reigns, Murray will get a break.
Smith missed Tuesday’s game with an illness and despite being on the ice for the morning skate, Smith will sit for a second straight game. With Smith out, Jakub Kindl will remain in the lineup.
Gustafsson, 23, had three assists in six games with Chicago during his call-up. With Michal Rozsival returning from LTIR, Gustafsson heads back to the AHL, where he has one assist in eight games with Rockford.
Rozsival started the season on long-term IR and wasn’t eligible to play until November 2nd. Now back at 100 percent, Rozsival has been activated and is expected to make his season debut on Saturday in St. Louis.
Stephenson has been a healthy scratch in three of the last four games and has been reassigned after failing to record a point in nine games with the Capitals this season.
Brown has missed the first four and a half weeks of the season with an injury. He is now healthy and will head to Hershey for a conditioning stint. He had 17 goals and 11 assists (28 points) in 64 games with Hershey last season.
Fleury allowed three goals on 35 shots in the Penguins shootout win over Montreal on Wednesday. Fleury has been victorious in five of his last six outings, posting a 1.82 GAA and .939 SV% in the process. On Friday he draws a great home matchup vs. the Blue Jackets—Fleury is 4-2-0 with a 2.16 GAA and .924 SV% in six starts at CONSOL Energy Center.
Howard allowed two goals on 22 shots in the Red Wings loss to the Stars last Sunday. In seven outings, Howard has only won three games in seven outings despite posting a 2.07 GAA and .932 SV%. Howard has gone 3-3-0 at home this season and it looks like he will face a Sharks team who have lost five of their last seven.
Rinne was shelled for five goals on 26 shots in the Predators 7-5 win over the Senators on Tuesday. Rinne has had a difficult time recently—Rinne has allowed a combined 15 goals on 112 shots (.866 SV%) in his last four starts. Rinne’s recent struggles could be brought to a halt tonight with the Maple Leafs in town.
Miller allowed four goals on 28 shots in the Canucks loss in New Jersey on Sunday. Jacob Markstrom started on Tuesday, so expect the Canucks to go back to Miller tonight in Ottawa. He comes in having lost his last three starts while allowing a combined 10 goals on 73 shots (.863 SV%). Tonight he will face an Ottawa team that is 8th in the NHL in scoring.
