Lack has struggled in his first two starts with the Hurricanes—he has allowed seven goals on 42 shots (.833 SV%). After winning his first two starts of the season with only two goals against, Howard has dropped his last two outings while allowing a combined eight goals on 76 shots (.895 SV%). He draws a tough matchup on Friday vs. a Senators team averaging 3.00 goals per game.
Bernier allowed five goals on 27 shots in the Maple Leafs loss in Montreal last Saturday. He has yet to win a game in five starts and has posted a meagre .902 SV% in the process. Things don’t get any easier for Bernier on Sunday when he takes on the Rangers in New York. Bernier has posted a 3.29 GAA and .894 SV% in four starts on the road.
Gaunce, 21, was the Canucks first round pick (26th overall) in 2012. The 6-foot-2, 205 lbs. winger will make his NHL debut on Thursday after scoring one goal with one assist in five games with Utica prior to his call-up. He will skate on the fourth line with Jared McCann and Derek Dorsett.
