Kane will miss at least one month with an MCL injury that he suffered on Saturday. His knee buckled on what looked like a harmless hit in the Sabres loss to the Devils. Kane has had a hard time staying healthy early in his NHL career and now he will be out until at least late-November.
Lazar was injured on Saturday and head coach Dave Cameron said that his injury is “more long term than short term.” Lazar has one a nice start to the season, but it looks like he will miss at least a couple of games with the upper-body injury.
Vermette missed Saturday’s game in Ottawa and missed this morning’s game day skate as well. He is listed as a game-time decision, but head coach Dave Tippet called him “very questionable”—so do not expect him to play.
Quincey will miss his second straight game with a concussion that he suffered last Friday in Calgary. He will remain out until he passes the concussion protocol testing.
Richards is dealing with pain in his lower-body, but it is not expected to be serious. He is going to meet with a specialist this week to make sure, but as of now the Red Wings are optimistic that he won’t miss an extended period of time.
Green suffered an upper-body injury last Friday on a big hit from Flames’ forward Josh Jooris. The injury forced him to miss Saturday’s OT in in Vancouver and will keep him out of tomorrow’s game vs. Carolina. Consider him day-to-day for now.
Farnham has no points in three games with the Penguins this season. In those games he averaged just 6:41 TOI, he should get a bigger role with the Devils.
Wagner, 24, has one goal and one assist in three games with San Diego this season. He failed to record a point in his only game with the Ducks this season. Wagner is expected to draw into the lineup for Chris Stewart tonight.
Berra allowed two goals on 40 shots in the Avalanche’s loss in Los Angeles on October 18th. The Avs started Semyon Varlamov in the last two games, but they will go back to Berra tonight in Florida. Berra has played very well this season, posting a 0.85 GAA and .975 SV% in three starts.
Crawford stopped all 21 shots that he faced in the Blackhawks’ shutout win over the Lightning on Saturday. It was a relatively easy shutout for Crawford, who has won four of six starts with a 1.84 GAA and .929 SV% to start the 2015-16 season. On Monday he will take on a Ducks team who has only scored six goals in seven games this season.
Smith allowed three goals on 27 shots in the Coyotes loss in New York on Thursday. After starting the first seven games of the season, Smith was given Saturday night off, but he will get back in goal tonight in Toronto. He started the season with three consecutive wins, but has dropped his last four games while posting a 4.09 GAA and .875 SV%.
Foligno was held out of Saturday’s game vs. New Jersey, but was back at practice this morning and should be back in the lineup on Tuesday. Foligno has three assists in seven games this season.
Kane suffered what appeared to be a bad knee injury on Saturday, so it is not surprising that he was not at practice this morning. Expect an update on Kane’s status later in the day.
Bozak will miss his fourth consecutive game on Monday, but he is expected to return to the lineup in the Maple Leafs’ next game; on Friday in New York.
Holland was a healthy scratch in Saturday’s loss to the Canadiens, but with Nick Spaling out with an injury, Holland will get back into the lineup on Monday. He has one goal and one assist in six games this season.
Spaling will be held out of the lineup on Monday because of an undisclosed injury. There is no word on the nature or severity of the injury, but it will allow Peter Holland to re-enter the lineup.
Reimer allowed three goals on 27 shots in the Maple Leafs win over the Blue Jackets on October 16th. Jonathan Bernier started the last three games but the Maple Leafs will turn to Reimer tonight vs. Arizona. Reimer has posted a 2.91 GAA and .890 SV% in three starts, but draws a strong matchup tonight.
Datsyuk, who is expected to be back in early-to-mid November returned to practice on Monday, but only made it through half of the session. Datsyuk will not travel with the team until he starts practicing fully. Mid-November is still Datsyuk’s target.
Johansen missed Saturday’s game and was flown back to Columbus that night. His absence from practice this morning puts his status for Tuesday’s game in serious doubt.
Ekholm has one goal and two assists in eight games this season. He is not usually known for producing offensively, having recorded just 30 points (9G / 21A) in 153 career games.
