Johnson gets the nod vs. the Maple Leafs.

Johnson allowed two goals on 22 shots in the Sabres loss in Tampa Bay on Saturday. He has lost three of his last four starts and sits with a 2.70 GAA and .896 SV% in five games with the Sabres this season. Tonight he has a chance to get back into the win column vs. a struggling Maple Leafs team minus two of their better players.

Chad Johnson
Umberger (upper-body) will be back in the Flyers lineup on Wednesday.

Umberger missed the last three games with an upper-body injury, but he will return to the lineup tonight in Boston. Umberger will replaced Sam Gagner in the lineup. The veteran forward has two assists and three shots in two games this season.

R.J. Umberger
Methot (concussion) practiced on Wednesday; remains questionable for Thursday's game.

Methot missed Saturday’s game and Monday’s practice because of a concussion. However, he returned to practice this morning, but did not take part in line rushes, which suggests that he will miss Thursday’s game vs. New Jersey.

Marc Methot
Hammond will get his first start of the year on Thursday.

Craig Anderson started the first six games of the season, but the Senators will turn to Hammond tonight vs. New Jersey. He was incredible at the end of 2014-15, going 20-1-2 with a 1.79 GAA and .941 SV% to get the Sens to the playoffs. He won’t be able to sustain those numbers, but he should make for a good spot-start tonight vs. the Devils.

Andrew Hammond
Neuvirth will start on Wednesday vs. the Bruins.

Neuvirth stopped all 30 shots that he faced in the Flyers shutout win over the Blackhawks last Wednesday. Steve Mason started last night, so the Flyers will turn to Neuvirth tonight in Boston—he comes in with a 132:05 shutout streak having shutout the Hawks and Panthers in back-to-back games.

Michal Neuvirth
Seidenberg (back) resumed skating on Wednesday.

Seidenberg is not expected to be back in the Bruins lineup until late November, but it is an encouraging sign that he is skating one month removed from back surgery. He is not close to returning, but the Bruins could certainly use him. However, they will probably have to wait another four weeks.

The Penguins have re-assisgned Tim Erixon to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (AHL).

Erixon has yet to appear in a game for the Penguins this season. He was recalled last Friday, but never dressed. He will head to WBS until the Penguins need a depth defenseman.

Tim Erixon
Beleskey will not play on Wednesday because of an upper-body injury.

Beleskey will not be in the lineup on Wednesday vs. the Flyers because of an upper-body injury. This means that Brett Connolly, who served as healthy scratch on Saturday, will get back into the lineup. Beleskey is day-to-day.

Matt Beleskey
Bergeron will be a game-time decision on Wednesday due to personal reasons.

Bergeron missed the Bruins’ gameday skate because of ‘personal reasons’ which is believed to be that his wife is expecting. Bergeron is listed as a game-time decision, so monitor his status as warmups draw near.

Patrice Bergeron
Rask is the Bruins' likely starter on Wednesday.

Rask surrendered three goals on 23 shots in the Bruins win in Arizona on Saturday. The win was his first of the season and snapped a three-game losing streak for Rask. He comes into play tonight with an ugly 4.29 GAA and .851 SV% on the season, but draws a good matchup vs. the Flyers team struggling to score early on.

Tuukka Rask
Varlamov will return to goal on Wednesday.

Varlamov surrendered five goals on 19 shots in the Avs’ loss to the Bruins last Wednesday. He was terrible in his first three starts of the season, allowing a combined 13 goals on 82 shots (.841 SV%). He will look to turn things around tonight vs. a Hurricanes team who is 21st in the NHL, averaging 2.20 goals per game.

Semyon Varlamov
Rinne leads the Predators onto the ice for warmups.

Rinne allowed four goals on 28 shots in the Predators loss to the Islanders last Thursday. He was given Saturday night off, but is expected to be back in goal tonight vs. the Lightning. Rinne has been great so far this season, going 3-1-0 with a 1.51 GAA and .944 SV% in his first four starts.

Pekka Rinne
Reinhart is day-to-day with an undisclosed injury; questionable for Wednesday.

Reinhart was not at practice on Tuesday so his status for Wednesday’s game against the Red Wings is up in the air. Monitor Reinhart’s status during tomorrow’s morning skate, but if he is ruled out, Andrew Ference will draw into the lineup.
