Lundqvist remains without a timetable for his return and it won’t happen this week because he will not travel with the team to New York, Washington or Buffalo. Cam Talbot will remain the Rangers workhorse while Lundqvist is out.
Bonino was deemed a game-time decision, but he said he feels good to go and called himself “probable.” Bonino has one goal and three assists in six games since returning from a lower-body injury.
Higgins missed Saturday’s game with a lower-body injury and it was announced this afternoon that he will be out for an extended period of time. Brandon McMillan and Ronalds Kennins will likely alternate playing time with Higgins out.
Bonino said he feels like he is ready to return, but the final decision will be up to the coaches.
Lack made 38 saves on 40 shots in the Canucks win over the Sharks on Saturday. Lack has appeared in eight straight games, going 3-2-1 with a 2.50 GAA and .925 SV%. Tonight he will face the Ducks for the third time this season—he has gone 1-0-1 with a 1.85 GAA and .927 SV% in the first two.
Tanev has been out with a concussion since February 14th, but will be back in tonight vs. Anaheim. Tanev will play in his usual spot on the top-pair with Alex Edler. The 25-year-old has registered 15 points (2G / 13A) in 53 games this season.
Niemi made 31 saves on 34 shots in the Sharks 3-2 loss to the Canucks on Saturday. He has gone 1-4-0 with a 2.65 GAA and ,917 SV% in his last five starts. Things will not get any easier for Niemi, who will take on a Penguins team who have won six of their last seven contests.
Nichushkin, who hasn’t played since November 6th, will be traveling with the team, and is expected to return to the Stars lineup next week. He had no points in four games before getting injured.
Klingberg left Saturday’s game with a lower-body injury, but the Stars are hopeful that he will be available for Tuesday’s game against the Flyers. Klingberg has an assist in four straight games and seven helpers in his last 10 games—however he is a minus-7 over that span as well.
Michalek returned to the ice over the weekend and skated again on Monday. He will need to return to practice before his Blues debut is imminent, but he is progressing well.
Bouwmeester missed Saturday’s game against the Maple Leafs with an illness, but he is expected to play on Tuesday. With Bouwmeester back in, Chris Butler is expected to take a seat.
Elliott gave up one goal on 24 shots in the Blues 6-1 win over the Maple Leafs on Saturday. It was a beat-down for Elliott’s 21st win of the season. Tonight he takes on a banged up Jets team at home—Elliott has gone 10-5-1 with a 2.23 GAA and .919 SV% at Scottrade Center this season.
Domingue will make his second start and fourth appearance of the season. In his last appearance he stopped all 14 shots that he faced in relief of Mike Smith. Overall he is 1-0-0 with a 2.27 GAA and .911 SV% this year. Tonight he will take on a slumping Predators team, who have lost six in a row while being outscored 22-11.
In Monday’s practice King was skating on the first line with Anze Kopitar and Marian Gaborik. King has 21 points (10G / 11A) in 64 games this season and has not registered a point in his last eight games.
Bogosian suffered a lower-body injury against the Capitals on Saturday and missed Monday’s practice. The Sabres are hopeful that he will be able to play on Wednesday.
One of the Coyotes forwards must be questionable for Monday’s game, which prompted the Coyotes to recall Shinnimin, 24, from the AHL. Shinnimin has registered one assist in 11 games with Arizona this season—while in Portland he has collected 14 goals and 19 assists (33 points) in 48 games.
Anderson allowed four goals on 46 shots in the Senators shootout win over the Flames on Sunday. It was an excellent return for Anderson, who will start his second straight game tonight vs. Boston. Anderson has gone 9-3-3 with a 2.36 GAA and .926 SV% at the Canadian Tire Centre this season.
Helm has missed the last three games and he will miss a fourth straight tonight when the Red Wings take on the Oilers. Helm has been skating, but not with the team. He is expected to miss the Wings’ two games during the week, but could be back for their back-to-back on the weekend.
Connauton has missed the last six games with a lower-body injury, but has been cleared to play on Tuesday. Just because he has been cleared to play, doesn’t mean that he will, but he is available for coach Todd Richards.
Wennberg played 14:27 on Saturday, which was his lowest on-ice total since February 19th, which suggests he may have suffered an injury vs. Colorado. There is no word when he suffered it or what the nature of the injury is, but he is questionable for Tuesday’s game. Wennberg has registered two assists in his last three games.
