Raanta has posted a 1.89 GAA and .936 SV% in 14 games this season. He is coming off of a relief appearance where he allowed two goals on 16 shots in Sunday’s loss to the Bruins. His demotion is certainly a surprising one, considering that Rockford is off until Friday, so he isn’t going down to get playing time this week.
Hartman, 20, did not record a point in five games with the Blackhawks.He heads back to the AHL where he has registered 18 points (8G / 10A) in 47 games with Rockford.
Miller surrendered four goals on 34 shots in the Canucks 5-4 win over the Rangers on Thursday. Miller has only started three of the last five games, but will get back in goal tonight on Long Island. Miller has gone 3-4-0 with a 3.40 GAA and .888 SV% in February.
McElhinney allowed two goals on 23 shots in the Blue Jackets 3-1 loss to Montreal last night. Despite the loss, Columbus will go back to McElhinney tonight in New York. He is 5-2-0 with a 2.00 GAA and .940 SV% in February—he is 2-0-0 with a 2.00 GAA and .938 SV% when he starts the second game of a back-to-back on no rest this season.
Bjugstad was listed as questionable with an undisclosed injury and the belief was that Vincent Trocheck was recalled to replace Bjugstad, but he will be in for Dave Bolland and Bjugstad is good to go. The 22-year-old has five goals in his last nine games.
Bolland is listed as day-to-day with an upper-body injury. He won’t play tonight, but the Panthers said that the injury is minor. Vincent Trocheck, who was recalled this morning, will replace him in the lineup.
Howard was pulled after he allowed six goals on 32 shots in the Red Wings wild come-from-behind 7-6 OT win over the Stars on Saturday. Since returning from a groin injury, Howard has gone 1-1-1 with a 3.01 GAA and .904 SV%. Tonight he will take on a Ducks team who have surprisingly lost five of their last eight while averaging 2.63 goals per game.
Despite being activated from IR this morning, Ehrhoff will be held out of tonight’s game vs. the Panthers. After tonight, the Penguins are off until Wednesday, so look for him to return in Washington.
Rask allowed two goals on nine shots after replacing Malcolm Subban on Friday vs. the Blues. He has not recorded a win since February 7th and has gone 1-4-2 with a 2.76 GAA and .904 SV% in February. He draws a difficult matchup vs. a Blackhawks team who are 10th in the NHL in scoring.
Ramo allowed three goals on 11 shots in the Flames loss to the Bruins on February 16th. Jonas Hiller did not fare so well in his last two outings, so the Flames will turn to Ramo tonight in New York. Ramo has one start vs. the Rangers this season—he was yanked after giving up four goals on 13 shots in what turned out to be a 5-2 loss back in December.
Talbot allowed four goals on 28 shots in the Jets loss to the Canucks on Thursday. He was given Friday night off, but will be back between the pipes tonight vs. Columbus. Talbot has gone 5-1-2 with a 3.10 GAA and .895 SV% in eight starts in February. He allowed four goals in a 5-2 loss in his first start vs. Columbus.
Pysyk, 23, has scored three times with 13 assists (16 points in 50 games with Rochester this season. He had one goal in four games with the Sabres earlier in the season.
McCabe, 21, has scored four goals and 21 assists (25 points) in 49 games with Rochester this season. McCabe will make his season debut tonight with Nikita Zadorov out for discipline reasons. McCabe had one assist in seven games with the Sabres last season.
Greening, 28, had just one goal in 20 games with the Senators before being sent down in late January. While in Binghamton, he has scored five goals with two assists (7 points) in 12 games.
Hemsky returned to the Stars lineup last night and posted two assists in 13:01 TOI. However, he must have been banged up last night because he is questionable for tonight’s contest. He will be replaced by Brendan Ranford if he can’t go.
Kozun had one goal in 5:20 TOI on Friday night in Carolina. With Joffrey Lupul back, Kozun heads back to the Marlies.
Enroth stopped all nine shots that he faced after replacing Kari Lehtonen in the Stars 5-2 loss to the Sharks on Thursday. He has made 35 saves on 39 shots (.897 SV%) in his first two appearances with Dallas. Tonight he will face a Wild team that he went 0-2-0 with a 6.02 GAA and .840 SV% against while with Buffalo.
