Berglund (upper-body) will not play on Friday vs. Carolina.

Berglund left Thursday’s game with an upper-body injury and did not return. He had one assist in 7:20 TOI before retiring to the dressing room for the evening. Coach Hitchcock said he did not know how long Berglund will be out past Friday.

Raanta will be in goal on Saturday vs. San Jose.

Raanta allowed one goal on 36 shots in the Blackhawks win over the Coyotes on January 20th. He has been one of the strongest backups this season having won seven of his 10 starts and registering a 1.87 GAA and .938 SV%. However, he has faltered on the road, going 0-3-0 with a 3.39 GAA and .873 SV%, so be wary of his matchup in San Jose.

Crawford starts in goal vs. Anaheim.

Crawford surrendered four goals on 27 shots in the Blackhawks 4-3 loss to the Kings on Wednesday. He has now dropped three of his last four while posting a 3.49 GAA and .891 SV%. It has been a rough stretch for Crawford and it won’t get any easier when he takes on a Ducks team who are 8-2-0 in January.

The Blackhawks acquired Gustav Forsling from the Canucks for Adam Clendening.

Forsling, 18, was the Canucks fifth round pick (126th overall) in 2014. The Blackhawks did not have room for Clendening, who deserved to be in the NHL, so they moved him for a younger prospect, who they will let develop for the next few years. Forsling has three goals and two assists in 35 games with Linkopings HC in Sweden.

The Canucks acquired Adam Clendening from the Blackhawks for Gustav Forsling.

Clendening, 22, is a solid puck-moving defenseman who has had a hard time cracking the roster in Chicago. He has registered 13 points (1G / 12A) in 38 games with Rockford (AHL) this season and his move to Vancouver immediately makes him their top D prospect. You could see him swap places with Frank Corrado and be playing with the Canucks right away.

Niemi leads the Sharks onto the ice for warmups.

Niemi made 26 saves on 28 shots in the Sharks win vs. Los Angeles before the All Star break. He has gone 4-3-1 with a 3.29 GAA and .882 SV% in January. Tonight marks his ninth start this month and it will be his fifth start vs. Anaheim. He has gone 3-0-1 with a 1.99 GAA and .938 SV% in the first four meetings.

Bryzgalov starts in goal for the Ducks.

Bryzgalov stopped 14 of 15 shots in the Ducks win over the Devils on January 16th. Since signing with the Ducks, he has gone 1-2-0 with a 3.70 GAA and .854 SV%. Tonight he will face the Sharks, which would leave Frederik Andersen for Friday vs. the Blackhawks.

Ilya Bryzgalov
Lehtonen leads the Stars onto the ice for warmups.

Lehtonen gave up three goals on 26 shots in the Stars loss to the Canadiens on Tuesday. He has allowed at least three goals in seven of nine January games, going 3-3-2 with a 3.45 GAA and .886 SV% in the process. Tonight he will get another shot at the Sens—he was pulled after allowing two goals on five shots on January 13th.

Kari Lehtonen
Rask leads the Bruins onto the ice for warmups.

Rask stopped 34 of 36 shots in the Bruins loss to Colorado before the All Star break. He has been strong in January, posting a 5-1-3 record, 1.63 GAA and .946 SV% in nine starts. He will start vs. an Islanders team who have won six of seven while averaging 4.57 goals per game.

Tuukka Rask
Kennedy (lower-body) will not play on Thursday; listed as day-to-day.

Kennedy did not skate this morning and is listed as day-to-day, which puts his status for Saturday’s game vs. the Blackhawks in doubt. With Kennedy out, Tye McGinn will play and Daniil Tarasov has been recalled.

Tyler Kennedy
Bryzgalov was the first goalie off of the ice for the Ducks.

Lupul (lower-body) has been activated from IR and will play on Thursday.

Lupul has not played since December 31st, but will return to the lineup tonight vs. the Coyotes. The Maple Leafs offence has been a disaster as of late, but Lupul should provide a much needed spark tonight. He has 17 points (9G / 8A) in 26 games this season.

Joffrey Lupul
The Jets have placed T.J Galiardi on waivers.

Galiardi has bounced in an out of the lineup this season. He has served as a healthy scratch in six of the last eight games and has just one goal in 26 games this season. He has been placed on waivers with the intention of sending him to St. John’s (AHL).

Tarasov, 23, has registered 10 goals and 15 assists (25 points) in 41 games with Worcester. With Tyler Kennedy out, Tarasov has been recalled and could make his NHL debut during his call-up.
