Chytil exited last Thursday's game after playing 9:37 time-on-ice due to an upper-body injury and has not played since. The 25-year-old Chytil has battled injuries the past two seasons but was having a strong 2024-25 campaign with nine points (4G / 5A) in 15 games. Jonny Brodzinski has drawn into the lineup since Chytil's absence.

Kreider did not play on Monday against the St. Louis Blues but is not expected to be out of the lineup for long. The 33-year-old Kreider hasn't been his usual productive self, with only nine points (9G / 0A) in 19 games this season, highlighted by a a stretch of only one point (1G / 0A) in his previous six games.

Matt Rempe has been re-assigned to the Hartford Wolf Pack (AHL), allowing space for the Rangers to recall Ruhwedel. The 34-year-old Ruhwedel played one game with the Rangers earlier this season but has primarily been in the AHL, scoring two points (0G / 2A) in seven games with Hartford.

Matthews has missed eight games due to an upper-body injury but appears to be nearing a return after being a full participant at practice on Tuesday. The Maple Leafs return to action on Wednesday against the Florida Panthers. Before his injury, Matthews was off to a slower-than-usual start to the 2024-25 campaign but had six points (2G / 4A) in his last five games.

L'Heureux was on the receiving end of an illegal cross-check from Timo Meier and exited the game late in the third period. Meier was given a five-minute major penalty and a game misconduct. An update on L'Heureux should be provided ahead of the Predators' next game on Wednesday against the Philadelphia Flyers.

The Bruins will turn to Swayman for his second consecutive start on Tuesday against the Vancouver Canucks. The 26-year-old Swayman has failed to live up to expectations this season, posting an ugly 3.30 GAA and .887 SV% in 15 games (6-7-2), but was solid in his last outing, saving 19 of 20 shots (.950 SV%) in a 2-1 win over the Detroit Red Wings, his first game since the firing of head coach Jim Montgomery. The Bruins enter the action on Tuesday as -115 home favorites against a Vancouver Canucks club that welcomes Brock Boeser (upper body) back into the lineup.

With Artem Zub (fractured foot) being placed on LTIR, Ottawa has recalled Sebrango from the Belleville Senators (AHL). The 22-year-old Sebrango was the 63rd overall pick of the Detroit Red Wings in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft. He has six points (2G / 4A) in 14 games with Belleville this season and has yet to make his NHL debut.

Zub (fractured foot) has been placed on LTIR.

Zub missed nine games earlier this season with an unrelated injury and will return to the sidelines indefinitely due to a fractured foot. The 29-year-old hard-hitting defenseman has battled injuries the last two seasons, limited to 53 and 69 games respectively. In a corresponding movie, Ottawa recalled Donovan Sebrango from the Belleville Senators (AHL).

Boeser has missed seven straight since suffering an upper-body injury November 7th against the Los Angeles King, courtesy of an illegal hit from Tanner Jeannot. Before his injury, Boeser was picking up where he left off with last seasons career-best totals, scoring 11 points (6G / 5A) in 12 games.

On the tail end of a back-to-back, the Canadiens will turn to Primeau in net on Wednesday against the Columbus Blue Jackets. Primeau has struggled this season and as a result has seen very limited action lately. The 25-year-old netminder is sporting an ugly 4.59 GAA and .842 SV% in eight appearances (1-2-1).

Carlsson (upper-body) left Monday's game vs. Seattle in the second period and did not return.

Carlsson was on the receiving end of a hit by Tye Kartye of the Seattle Kraken on Monday and exited the game shortly after, playing only 6:28 time-on-ice. No update has been provided on Carlsson's status, but more should be known before they hit the ice for their next contest on Wednesday in a rematch against Seattle. Carlsson, in his second NHL season, has 11 points (6G / 5A) in 20 games.

Montembeault has been a workhorse for the Canadiens this season and will start for the fifth straight game on Tuesday against the Utah Hockey Club. The 28-year-old Montembeault has had an up-and-down 2024-25 campaign, posting a 3.08 GAA and .899 SV% in 16 games (6-9-1). That said, he has had two shutouts this season and has allowed two or fewer goals in three of his last four games (2-2-0). The Canadiens enter the action on Tuesday as +115 home underdogs against a Utah team that has lost four of their last five (1-4-0).
