Halak starts in goal for the Islanders.

Halak surrendered six goals on 40 shots in the Islanders loss to the Blues last Saturday. He was scheduled to start on Tuesday, but was a late scratch because of an upper-body injury. He will be back in goal with a chance to redeem himself vs. St. Louis. Halak is 14-5-0 with a 2.26 GAA and .920 SV% this season.

Jaroslav Halak
Rask gets the call vs. Chicago.

Rask allowed two goals on 26 shots in the Bruins win over Arizona on Saturday. Rask had lost four of five entering play on Saturday, but the win hopefully has him back on track heading into a big matchup vs. the Blackhawks. Rask has gone 9-3-1 with a 1.99 GAA and .931 SV% at home this season.

Tuukka Rask
Bobrovsky will start in goal for the Blue Jackets.

Bobrovsky stopped 19 of 21 shots to earn his fourth straight win on Tuesday vs.the Flyers. Over that span, Bob has allowed just seven goals on 135 shots (.948 SV%). He will look to keep his red-hot stretch of play going tonight in Washington. Bobrovsky is 4-4-0 with a 2.91 GAA and .916 SV% on the road this season.

Sergei Bobrovsky
Darling gets the start for the Blackhawks.

Darling allowed two goals on 24 shots in the Blackhawks win over New Jersey on Tuesday. He has once again supplanted Antti Raanta as the Hawks temporary starter while Corey Crawford is out. Darling has won two straight with a 1.44 GAA and .947 SV%. He draws a tough matchup tonight vs.the Bruins, but the Hawks are rolling right now.

Scott Darling
DeKeyser (upper-body) will miss at least the next two games.

DeKeyser suffered an upper-body injury in Wednesday’s shootout loss to the Maple Leafs. He will miss the Red Wings back-to-back vs. Florida (FRI) and Toronto (SAT), but he hopes to be back in the lineup next Tuesday. Xavier Ouellet has been recalled from Grand Rapids.

Dan DeKeyser
Quick was the first goalie off at the Kings morning skate.

Quick allowed one goals on 16 shots in the Kings 1-0 loss to the Sabres on Tuesday. It was an unexpected loss to say the least, but hopefully coach Sutter lit a fire under his guys and will get them going tonight in Ottawa. Quick is 1-3-0 despite posting a 1.52 GAA and .931 SV% in his last four starts.

Jonathan Quick
Schneider will be back in goal for the Devils.

Schneider allowed one goal on 40 shots in the Devils win over the Hurricanes on Monday. He has won two of his last three with a 2.35 GAA and .930 SV%. After a rare night off on Tuesday, he will be back in goal tonight in Philly. Schneider is 1-0-0 vs. the Flyers and 8-8-0 with a 2.60 GAA and .918 SV% on the road.

Cory Schneider
Ward was the first goalie off at the Hurricanes morning skate.

Ward stopped 14 of 16 shots in the Hurricanes 2-1 loss to the Devils on Monday. The good news is Ward has returned as the clear number-1 this season, the bad he has just eight wins in 19 outings with a 2.49 GAA and .908 SV%. Those numbers are not terrible, but they also aren’t numbers of a guy you want to start tonight vs. the Lightning.

Cam Ward
Hodgson out; Stewart in.

Hodgson will serve as a healthy scratch tonight vs. the Flames. He has one goals and three points in 28 games this season, so he will be a healthy scratch for the first time in his career. “Maybe a game watching will get him out of that funk,” Sabres coach Ted Nolan said this morning. Chris Stewart will get back into the lineup for Hodgson.

Cody Hodgson
Green (upper-body) will return to the Capitals lineup on Thursday.

Green has missed the last seven games with an upper-body injury, but will be back in the lineup tonight vs. the Blue Jackets. Green has 12 points (3G / 9A) in 19 games this season. Jack Hillen will come out of the lineup for Green.

Mike Green
Pickard gets his second straight start on Thursday.

Pickard allowed one goal on 34 shots a 3-0 loss to the Predators on Tuesday. It was a strong return to the Avalanche goal for Pickard, who will be the Avs’ go-to-guy while Varlamov is out. The 22-year-old has an OK home matchup tonight. He has gone 2-3-0 with a 2.16 GAA and.933 SV% at the Pepsi Center.

Calvin Pickard
Chara (knee) is a game-time decision tonight.

Leading up to tonight, Chara has been practicing on a regular pairing and the power-play, both signs that he was going to return tonight. Chara skated again this morning and was off with the main group, however coach Julien would not confirm that Chara will be in the lineup tonight.
