Tanguay, the team's leading goal scorer with seven, took a slap shot to the face from Washington's Alex Ovechkin and was briefly hospitalized. "Alex texted me and said he will be back as soon as he can," Roy said.
Dillon, 24, is a big-boy at 6-foot-3, 225 lbs. and bring some size and physicality to the Sharks blueline. Demers is a better puck-moving defenseman, but Dillon is two years younger and the Sharks have a number of young offensive blueliners in their system. Dillon will be a restricted free agent at the end of the season.
Demers, 26, has three assists and a minus-6 rating in 20 games with the Sharks. Demers addresses the Stars need for a right-handed D-man. He is just two of seven blueliners on the Stars' squad that is a righty. He is a better puck moving defenseman than Dillon, but obviously is not nearly as big.
Berra allowed three goals on 23 shots in a 3-2 loss to the Capitals on Thursday. With Semyon Varlamov still out, Berra will get back-to-back starts for the second time in November. Tonight will mark Berra’s fourth start at the Pepsi Center, he has gone 1-1-1 with a 3.23 GAA and .897 SV% in his first three.
Drasaitl has a career-high ice-time of 15:22, but he will likely top that tonight while playing with Hall and Purcell. He has five points (2G / 3A) with a minus-6 rating in the first 19 games of his NHL career.
Marincin has been scratched for the last five games, but will slide back onto the third pair with Mark Fayne tonight vs. the visiting Devils. He has one assist and a minus-3 rating in nine games this season.
Fasth was pulled after he allowed three goals on 17 shots in the first period of the Oilers loss to the the Predators on November 11th. He sat for the following three games, but will be back in tonight vs. the Devils. Fasth is 2-3-1 with a 3.64 GAA and .885 on the season, but tonight will mark his first start on home ice.
Lehner stopped 33 of 35 shots in the Senators 3-2 win over the Predators on Thursday. He made a number of key saves that preserved his fourth win of the season. Lehner has been rewarded with back-to-back starts, but draws a really rough matchup with the 12-6-1 Blues in town.
Corrado, 21, has been recalled because Dan Hamhuis suffered a lower-body injury on Thursday night. He has appeared in 11 games with the Comets this season recording three points (2-1-3) and 13 penalty minutes. Last season he appeared in 15 games for the Canucks, collecting one goal.
Hamhuis' injury was a weird one. He went down while trying to turn and appeared to hurt his leg. He was seen limping noticeably after the game and the Canucks recalled Frank Corrado this afternoon, which suggests Hamhuis is going to miss some time.
Miller has been out since mid-October with a dislocated right shoulder. He was a healthy scratch on Tuesday, but with Adam McQuaid out for 6-8 weeks, Miller should slide into the lineup tonight.
The Wild are in Tampa Bay on Saturday so monitor Koivu’s status during tomorrow’s morning skate. Should he skate, he will likely be available for head coach Mike Yeo. Koivu has struggled in the first quarter of the season, posting just five points (2G / 3A) in 18 games.
Tokarski stopped 28 of 29 shots in the Habs’ 4-1 win over the Red Wings last Sunday. With Carey Price sizzling right now, Tokarski has been limited to just four starts this season. However, Tokarski has won both of his November starts with a 0.96 GAA and .967 SV%.
Price stopped 31 of 32 shots in the Habs’ 4-1 win over the Blues on Thursday. It was a great win over a really good team and tonight they have another huge game vs. their rivals in Boston. Price is 2-0-0 vs. the Bruins and has won five of his last six starts with a 1.67 GAA and .939 SV%.
The Bruins had an optional skate this morning so it is hard to tell who the starter is, but with the rival Canadiens in town on Saturday, it looks like it will be Svedberg tonight and Tuukka Rask tomorrow. Svedberg is 2-3-0 with a 2.41 GAA and .917 SV% in five starts and seven appearances and could make for a strong spot-start against a the 6-11-1 Blue Jackets.
Johnson surrendered five goals on 28 shots in a loss to the Lightning on Saturday. Johnson is 4-2-0 with a 3.28 GAA and .878 SV% in six starts this season. He doesn’t make for an appealing spot-start tonight on the road vs. the 13-3-1 Penguins.
Danault, 21, was the Blackhawks first-round pick (26th overall) in 2011. Danault has registered three goals and seven assists (10 points) in 14 games with Rockford prior to his recall.
Sharp is still expected to start skating today or tomorrow and going on LTIR should not alter his timeline. Sharp is still expected to be back in 7-14 days. The move is simply a salary cap move.
