Damien Brunner cleared waivers and has been assigned to Albany (AHL).

Brunner had recorded seven points (2G / 5A) in 17 games this season. It was a bit surprising to see him on waivers considering all the injuries that the Devils are battling up-front.

Damien Brunner
Pavelec leads the Jets onto the ice for warmups.

Pavelec allowed two goals on 24 shots in the Jets win over the Oilers on Wednesday. He has won each of his last two starts while allowing just three goals on 44 shots (.932 SV%). Today he gets the call in goal vs. a Ducks team who have won three in a row, but will be without Corey Perry.

Ondrej Pavelec
Brodeur will make his home debut on Monday.

Brodeur stopped 14 of 15 shots in relief in the Blues come from behind win over the Islanders on Saturday. It was his first career win with St. Louis and tonight he makes his first home start as he gets set to take on the Panthers. Brodeur has looked strong in two appearances, making him a reasonably safe start tonight.

Martin Brodeur
Anderson starts Sunday vs. Vancouver.

Anderson allowed three goals on 33 shots in the Senators 3-2 loss to the Penguins last night. He gave up a late goal to Christian Ehrhoff thanks to a defensive breakdown. Anderson has lost his last five games with a 3.01 GAA and .914 SV%, but with Robin Lehner out, Anderson will make his fourth straight start.

Craig Anderson
Matthias (head) left Saturday’s game and did not return.

Matthias was elbowed in the head by the Leafs’ defenseman Stephane Robias on Saturday. The Canucks winger struggled to regain his balance after falling to the ice. He was woozy, left the game and didn’t return. Its not a stretch to suggest a concussion because a quiet-room visit and then not returning would mean the customary seven-day window to ensure symptoms subside. If he is unavailable on Sunday, Nicklas Jensen would get into the lineup.

Shawn Matthias
The Capitals have reassigned Liam O’Brien to Hershey (AHL).

O’Brien, 20, registered two points (1G / 1A) in 13 games with the Capitals this season. The 6’1”, 210-pound forward signed with Washington as a free agent on Oct. 6 and made his NHL debut on Oct. 9 against Montreal. O’Brien earned his first NHL point on Oct. 14 against San Jose and scored his first NHL goal on Oct. 26 at Vancouver.

Liam O'Brien
Kennedy (upper-body) will not play Sunday vs. the Oilers.

Kennedy left Saturday’s game game with an upper-body injury and did not return. Kennedy was spotted seeing a sling following Saturday’s game so he will not be in the lineup tonight in Edmonton. Expect Tye McGinn to get back into the lineup.

Tyler Kennedy
Cammalleri left Saturday’s game with a lower-body injury and did not return.

Cammalleri played just 13:26 before retiring to the dressing room for the evening. The Devils did not have an update on Cammalleri following the loss, so consider him day-to-day and expect more details to be released over the next 24 hours.

Michael Cammalleri
Volchenkov is day-to-day with a lower-body injury.

Volchenkov did not play on Saturday night, he was replaced by Victor Bartley. Volchenkov likely suffered the injury on Thursday vs. the Blues, where he played just 11:18. He is questionable for Tuesday’s clash with Colorado. Bartley will remain in the lineup until Volchenkov is 100 percent.

Anton Volchenkov
Mrazek is expected to start Sunday vs. Carolina.

Mrazek gave up four goals on 25 shots in the Red Wings come from behind win over the Devils on November 28th. It has not been pretty, but Mrazek has won both of his starts this season, however he has posted a 3.36 GAA and .875 SV% in the process. If you need Sunday goalie numbers, this matchup sets up nicely for him.

Petr Mrazek
Andersen starts Sunday vs. Winnipeg.

Andersen allowed four goals on 25 shots n the Ducks win over the Wild on Friday. It was the second straight game that Andersen has given up four and come away with the win. At this point, the Ducks are winning in spite of Andersen not because of him. He has been victorious in six of eight, despite posting a 3.16 GAA and .900 SV%.
