The Sharks have recalled Troy Grosenick from Worcester (AHL).

Grosenick, 25, has never appeared in an NHL game, but has gone 7-2-1 with a 2.73 GAA and .908 SV% in 10 games with Worcester this season. Last year was his first full pro season and he went 18-14-0. He will backup Antti Niemi for the foreseeable future while Alex Stalock (undisclosed) is out.

Stalock has been placed on injured reserve with an undisclosed injury.

Stalock, who was scheduled to start on Tuesday must have suffered an injury in warmups, which is why Antti Niemi ended up getting the call in goal. With Stalock to IR, the Sharks have recalled Troy Grosenick from Worcester (AHL).

Alex Stalock
Boyle (hand) appears to be ready to go for Thursday.

Boyle was back in practice again on Wednesday and practiced on the top pair with Marc Staal as well as taking part in power-play drills, both good signs that he will be in the lineup when the Rangers take on the Avalanche.

Dan Boyle
Hertl is back on the Sharks’ third line on Wednesday.

Hertl picked up one assist with a plus-1 rating and three shots in the Sharks’ 4-1 loss to the Panthers last night. He was moved up to the first line prior to yesterday’s game, but only played 13:38 which means he was likely bumped down midway through the contest. He is back on the third line this morning, so expect him to stay there to start Thursday’s game in Tampa Bay.

Tomas Hertl
Ward will start between the pipes on Thursday.

Ward stopped 22 of 23 shots in the Hurricanes 4-1 win over the Flames on Monday. He has been ridiculous as of late, winning five in a row while allowing just seven goals on 130 shots (.946 SV%). He draws a solid matchup against the Jets at home, where he is 4-1-1 with a 2.12 GAA with a .920 SV%.

Cam Ward
Bruins head coach Claude Julien called tonight's starting goalie a game-time decision.

The Bruins have a back-to-back tonight and tomorrow but Tuukka Rask has already started both games of a back-to-back once this season (Oct 8-9). He was not on the ice for the morning skate which suggests he might get the nod tonight, but we will have to wait until warmups to confirm that.

Tuukka Rask
The Habs have sent Jared Tinordi back to Hamilton (AHL).

After the Canadiens acquired Sergei Gonchar from the Stars on Tuesday, one of their young defensemen needed to be sent down. They have elected to go with Nathan Beaulieu over Tinordi for now. Tinordi was a healthy scratch in four of the last five games and had just two assists with a minus-5 rating in nine games.

Jarred Tinordi
Johnson suffered an undisclosed injury on Tuesday and did not return.

Johnson left the game in the third period after he was checked by Hawks’ defenseman Brent Seabrook. Head coach Jon Cooper did not have an update on Johnson after the game so expect an update on Wednesday or Thursday.

Tyler Johnson
Carcillo (knee) could play as early as Sunday but will definitely be on the upcoming road-trip.

Carcillo, who suffered a right-knee injury against the St. Louis Blues on October 26, has skated twice now and is feeling much better. “We’ll see if he gets in before we go on the trip or not. That could be Sunday’s decision,” said coach Quenneville. It’s the third time in his two stints with the Blackhawks that Carcillo has suffered a knee injury.

Dan Carcillo
Lehtonen leads the Stars onto the ice for warmups.

Lehtonen allowed three goals on 33 shots in Thursday’s loss to the Predators. Lehtonen is struggling right now—Thursday marked his fifth straight loss; he has posted a 3.20 GAA and .889 SV% over that span. He will look to climb back into the win column tonight on the road in Arizona.

Kari Lehtonen
Anderson starts for the Senators.

Anderson stopped 36 of 37 shots in the Senators’ shootout loss to the Jets on Saturday. He was given Sunday night off and Robin Lehner struggled, so Anderson will be back in the cage tonight vs. the Canucks. Anderson is 1-2-0 with a 1.68 GAA and .955 SV% on the road this season.

Craig Anderson
Rinne leads the Predators onto the ice for warmups.

Rinne allowed one goal on 29 shots in the Predators win over the Blues on Saturday. Rinne has won three in a row and four of the last five while posting a 1.81 GAA and .939 SV%. He has been hard to beat through his first 12 starts having posted a 9-2-1 record. Tonight he takes on an Edmonton team who have won two in a row, but sit at 6-8-1 on the year.

Pekka Rinne
Fleury gets the start for the Penguins.

Fleury allowed a single goal on 21 shots in the Penguins 6-1 blowout of the Sabres. It was Men vs. Boys on Saturday, but that won’t be the case in The Big Apple on Tuesday. Fleury is scorching hot as of last—he has won six in a row while posting a 1.15 GAA and .955 SV%. Do yourself a favour and don’t even think about benching him.

Marc-Andre Fleury
Schneider will start in goal for the Devils.

Schneider allowed four goals on 23 shots in the Devils loss to the Bruins last night. He has dropped each of his last four starts, but will still get the nod on back-to-back nights. Tonight will mark his 16th consecutive start of the year, he holds a 2.99 GAA and .901 SV% through the first 15.
