Phillips (lower-body) will not play on Thursday.

Phillips left Tuesday’s game with a lower-body injury and did not return. He was not on the ice yesterday and it was classified as a maintenance day, but he was obviously still being hampered by the lower-body injury and will be replaced by Mark Borowiecki.

Chris Phillips
Mason starts his third in a row.

Mason stopped 35 of 36 shots in the Flyers win over the Oilers on Tuesday. It was Mason’s first win of the season and he enters play on Thursday with a 3.16 GAA and .901 SV%. He draws a good matchup tonight vs. a Panthers team who rank 29th in scoring (1.50 G/PG).

Steve Mason
Elliott will be in the cage on Saturday.

Elliott surrendered three goals on 39 shots in a win over the Rangers on Monday. He was given the last two games off with Jake Allen playing well, but he is back tonight, riding a four-game personal winning streak. Elliott has a 2.06 GAA and .920 SV% through eight starts and makes for a good fantasy start when he gets the nod.

Brian Elliott
Anderson will start for the Senators on Thursday.

Anderson stopped 31 of 32 shots in the Senators win over the Red Wings on Tuesday. He snapped a two-game losing streak and now sits 3-2-1 with a 2.15 GAA and .939 SV%. He will get the nod against a Wild team who have won five of seven and sit 7-4-0 on the year.

The Blackhawks have recalled Peter Regin from Rockford (AHL).

Regin, 28, is a versatile forward who had four points (2G / 2A) in 17 games with the Hawks last season. He will likely be with the team for a few weeks with Patrick Sharp sidelined with a leg injury. Expect him to skate on the fourth line on Friday.

Peter Regin
Tlusty (upper-body) is on the ice in a no-contact jersey.

Tlusty was injured in the Hurricanes win over the Blue Jackets on Tuesday. Jack Johnson was slapped with a three-game suspension for the hit on Tlusty, but it looks like he will miss some time as a result of the big hit. Look for Jeff Skinner to move back into the top-6 with Tlusty out.

Jiri Tlusty
Gustavsson will miss a few weeks with a separated left shoulder.

Gustavsson injured his shoulder on the Rangers’ overtime game winning goal by Derrick Brassard. Gustavsson’s injury will give 22-year-old Petr Mrazek a chance with the Red Wings for the next couple of weeks.

Jonas Gustavsson
Wisniewski (finger) could be back on Friday.

Wisniewski had a “good day” on Wednesday and should be available for Friday according to head coach Todd Richards.  “He was able to shoot pucks, wrist shots and slap shots,” Richards said. “He’s getting close.” Wisniewski learned he would not need surgery on the finger after taking another set of x-rays on Tuesday. With Jack Johnson suspended, getting Wisniewski’s return would be huge for the Blue Jackets.

James Wisniewski
Backstrom will be between the pipes for the Wild.

Backstrom surrendered three goals on 28 shots in a win over the Bruins on October 28th. He has allowed five goals on 44 shots (.886 SV%) in his two starts this season. Today, he draws a fairly tough matchup against a Senators team who are playing great hockey right now.

Niklas Backstrom
Anderson was the first goalie off of the ice this morning.

The Oilers have recalled Iiro Pakarinen from Oklahoma City (AHL).

Pakarinen, 23, has five goals and three assists in his first seven games in North America with OKC (AHL). The 2011 seventh round pick (2011) will likely make his NHL debut on Thursday with Leon Draisaitl and Nail Yakupov as his line mates.

Iiro Pakarinen
Niemi starts his fifth straight on Thursday.

Niemi stopped 19 of 20 shots in the Sharks win over the Islanders last Saturday. He has three of his last far while holding the opposition to seven goals on 133 shots (.947 SV%). Tonight he takes on the Canucks at home, he is 1-1-0 at SAP Center so far.

Antti Niemi
Allen gets the start for the Blues on Thursday.

Allen stopped all 26 shots that he faced in the Blues 1-0 win over the Devils on Tuesday. He has stopped all 50 of the shots that he has faced in his last two starts and should make for a good start tonight as he takes on the Devils again, this time in St. Louis.
