NHL Hockey Player News

Gibson leads the Ducks onto the ice for warmups.

Gibson stopped 36 of 38 shots in a win over the Sharks on Wednesday. Gibson has won each of his first two NHL starts with a 1.00 GAA, .964 SV% and one shutout… Not bad. His strong play has earned him the nod in the Ducks' season finale vs. the Avalanche.

John Gibson
Lehner will start for the Senators.

Lehner stopped 38 of 39 shots in a win over the Devils on Thursday. He has won each of his last three starts with a 1.95 GAA and .951 SV%. He will start the final game of the season tonight vs. the Penguins. Lehner will close out his season after going 11-15-6 with a 3.10 GAA and .913 SV% in his first 29 starts.

Robin Lehner
Gaudreau will make his NHL debut on Sunday.

Gaudreau, who signed with the Flames earlier in the week, was the 2014 Hobey Baker Award winner. The fourth-round pick (104th overall) in 2011 scored 36 goals with 44 assists (80 points) in 40 games with Boston College this season. The under-sized, 20-year-old forward is expected to have his BC linemate Bill Arnold on his line in Vancouver tonight.

Johnny Gaudreau
Giguere will start Sunday for the Avalanche; not Varlamov as originally announced.

Giguere allowed two goals on 24 shots after replacing Reto Berra on Friday. Originally April 8th vs. Edmonton looked like it could be Giggy's last NHL game, but he will get the call tonight vs. the Ducks in what should be his final NHL start. Giguere is 11-6-0 with a 2.61 GAA and .913 SV% this season.

Ramo is expected to start for the Flames.

Ramo allowed four goals on 26 shots in a 5-3 loss to the Jets on Friday. His three-game winning streak was snapped, but he will try to finish the season strong in his 40th game of the season tonight in Vancouver. Ramo has gone 8-8-4 with a 2.62 GAA and .911 SV% on the road this season.

Karri Ramo
Bryzgalov starts for the Wild.

Bryzgalov stopped 21 of 24 shots in a win over the Bruins on Tuesday. He had his shutout streak snapped, but still got the win vs. a tough B's team. He has won five of six with a 1.30 GAA and .942 SV%, heating up at the perfect time. He will see the Predators tonight, but the Avalanche in the first round.

Ilya Bryzgalov
Knapp will start for the Sabres.

Knapp stopped six of seven shots after replacing Matt Hackett in yesterday's loss to the Bruins. Today he will make his first NHL starts against the Islanders. Knapp starts the season in the ECHL, but has made the quick leap to the NHL with the ridiculous amount of goalie injuries in Buffalo this season.

Connor Knapp
Nilsson in goal for the Islanders.

Nilsson stopped 25 of 27 shots in a win over the Devils on Friday. He snapped a two game losing streak and moved to 7-7-2 with a 3.13 GAA and .894 SV% on the year. He makes so a solid spot-start for people in dire need of goalie numbers on the last day of the fantasy hockey and NHL regular season.
