Wideman, 24, leads the Binghamton Senators in points with 29 (12G / 17A) despite playing on the blue line. He has been recalled to be the Senators seventh defenseman this afternoon in Boston. Given the great season that he is having in the AHL, the Senators could elect to have him make his NHL debut today.
Lindblad, 24, played just 7:27 in his only game during his recall. He’ll join Providence where he sits with 13 points (7G / 6A) in 30 games this season.
Trotman, 24, had four assists in the 17 games that he spent with the Bruins. The young blue liner will head back to Providence where he registered three assists in nine games before being called-up.
Methot has only played in two games for the Senators this season because of a lingering back injury. He is expected to play for Binghamton on Saturday before returning to the Senators next week.
Gaudet played in the first two games of his NHL career during his recall. He heads back to Portland where he has eight points (4G / 4A) in 29 games.
Reimer allowed three goals on 41 shots in the Maple Leafs’ 3-2 loss to the Lightning on Monday. Reimer has sat the last two games, including last night, so he is expected to start the second game of the back-to-back. The Winnipeg native was pulled after allowing four goals on 19 shots in his only start at MTS Centre last season.
Fleury allowed one goal on 25 shots in the Penguins win over the Hurricanes on Wednesday. He sat during the first game of the back-to-back, but will play tonight vs. the Canadiens. In his first start vs. Montreal, Fleury posted a 27-save shutout in a 4-0 win. He carries a 14-4-1 home record into tonight’s matchup.
Howard stopped 12 of 13 shots in the Red Wings win over the Devils on Wednesday. It was about as easy of a night as you could have, but Howard will take it as he notched his 15th win of the season. Despite posting a GAA under 2.00 (1.98) in December, a lack of offence led to a 4-2-3 record for Howie.
Schwartz was upgraded to week-to-week on Thursday and is expected to play tomorrow. The Blues won’t have a morning skate because of the back-to-back, but Schwartz will likely skate in an optional and a decision will be made after that.
Zucker has missed the last three games with an illness, but could be back in tonight vs. Toronto. Zucker has 12 goals and four assists in 32 games this season. He will play on the fourth line with Ryan Carter and Matt Cooke if he can play.
Fleischmann left the Panthers’ morning skate with an undisclosed injury and his status for tonight’s game is in doubt. Brandon Pirri will be in the lineup if Fleischmann is unavailable.
Varlamov allowed three goals on 29 shots in the Avs’ win over the Flyers on Wednesday. The Avalanche will continue to ride Varly almost exclusively with no back-to-backs until January 12th-13th. He is 2-1-0 with a 1.95 GAA and .925 SV% since returning from a groin injury last week.
Palmieri skated with Ryan Kesler and Matt Beleskey in the Ducks morning skate and could be back in the lineup tonight vs. the Blues. Palmieri has missed the last six games with a shoulder injury.
Pouliot took part in the morning skate and skated on the second line. It looks like he will be back after missing over five weeks with a broken foot. He has eight points (3G / 5A) in 20 games this season .
Thornton left Wednesday’s game in the first period with an undisclosed injury. He practiced this morning with no restrictions so expect him to play tomorrow vs. the Blues.
Scrivens allowed four goals on 28 shots in the Oilers loss to the Flames on Wednesday. After a big win over the Kings, the Oilers quickly got back to their losing ways, losing to the Provincial rival for the second time in the week. Scrivens finished December at 2-4-4 with a 2.78 GAA and .903 SV%.
Halak stopped 21 of 23 shots in the Islanders win over the Jets on Wednesday. Halak has won six straight games with a 1.80 GAA and .922 SV%. He draws a nice matchup tonight in Calgary—Halak has gone 8-3-0 with a 2.26 GAA and .922 SV% on the road this season.
McKegg, 22, has one career NHL game under his belt, tonight will be number two. He has recorded seven goals and eight assists (15 points) in 23 games with Toronto (AHL) this season.
Kadri has missed practice the last two days and is danger of missing tonight’s game vs. the Maple Leafs. Monitor his status closer to puck-drop.
Gunnarsson is expected to return to the lineup on Friday vs. the Ducks. Gunnarsson has been sidelined since December 6th, but should be back in tonight. He has one goal and four assists in 20 games this season.
