The Sabres have claimed Cory Conacher off of waivers from Ottawa.

Conacher along with a fourth-round pick was sent to the Senators for Ben Bishop last season. Bishop has been amazing this season, while Conacher has struggled severely and now finds himself in Buffalo. The 24-year-old spent four years at nearby Canisius College, so this is a bit of a homecoming for Conacher. He recorded four goals and 16 assists (20 points) in 60 games with Ottawa this season.

Holtby starts in goal for the Capitals.

Holtby's four-game winning streak was snapped when he allowed five goals on 36 shots in a 5-4 OT loss to the Flyers on Sunday. He will face the Flyers again tonight, this time in Philadelphia. He is 4-0-1 with a 2.58 GAA and .923 SV% in his last five outings.

Braden Holtby
Mason starts, Cal Heeter gets the call as back-up again.

Mason gave up four goals on 29 shots in a win over the Capitals on Saturday. He has won two of three starts with a 3.70 GAA and .875 SV% since the Olympic break. He will see the Capitals once again tonight, the matchup is not great, but he can likely pull-out another W.

Steve Mason
MacDonald will make his Flyers debut on Wednesday.

MacDonald who was acquired from the Islanders on Tuesday, will start his Flyers career with Luke Schenn as his D-partner. MacDonald will also play on the Flyers second power-play unit on the point with former Isles teammate Mark Streit. MacDonald had four goals and 20 assists in 63 games on Long Island.

Andrew MacDonald
Bernier is back in goal for the Maple Leafs.

Bernier was given Monday night off, but allowed four goals on 30 shots in a overtime loss to the Canadiens on Saturday. He has allowed nine goals on 65 shots in two starts since the Sochi Olympics. He will go head-to-head with Henrik Lundqvist and could see recently acquired Martin St. Louis if he makes it to New York. Bernier is 0-1-1 with a 3.55 GAA and .920 SV% against New York this season.

Jonathan Bernier
The Rangers have traded Callahan, a 2015 first-round pick and a 2014 second round pick to the Lightning for Martin St. Louis.

It is a captain for captain trade, however St. Louis is signed through next season while Callahan is a pending free agent who wants a huge contract (expected to be around 6-years / $36M). He is a gritty, hard-working forward who will likely spend the rest of the season with the Lightning but not be re-signed in summer. He could also be a piece in another trade this afternoon, but should he stay with the Lightning, he could find himself replacing St. Louis on a line with Steven Stamos.

Ryan Callahan
The Lightning have traded St. Louis to the Rangers for Ryan Callahan, a 2015 first-round pick and a 2014 second round pick.

Things had gone sour with St. Louis and Lightning GM Steve Yzerman and the result was St. Louis asking for a trade. Yzerman has granted St. Louis' request by sending him to the Rangers and reuniting him with former teammate Brad Richards. Without Steven Stamkos for 45 games, St. Louis still had 29 goals and 32 assists in 62 games this season.

Martin St. Louis
Lundqvist starts in goal for the Rangers.

Lundqivst allowed six goals on 33 shots in a loss to the Bruins on Sunday. 'King Henrik' has struggled since having a strong Olympics. He has allowed 10 goals on 64 shots (5.12 GAA / .844 SV%) in two starts after Sochi. Despite his struggles, the Rangers will start him again tonight vs. the Maple Leafs. Lundqvist is 11-12-3 at home this season.

Henrik Lundqvist
Early reports suggest Scheifele suffered an MCL injury likely out 6-8 weeks.

This is a huge blow for the Jets. Scheifele is the Jets best two-way centre and this certainly hurts their chances at a playoff push, they are currently one-point out. With Scheifele out, this could force the Jets to be sellers at the deadline, rather than buyers.

Mark Scheifele
Mason occupying the "starters crease" expected to start.

Mason gave up four goals on 29 shots in a win over the Capitals on Saturday. He has won two of three starts with a 3.70 GAA and .875 SV% since the Olympic break. He will see the Capitals once again tonight, the matchup is not great, but he can likely pull-out another W.

Steve Mason
Stamkos (leg) has been cleared to play and will be back in the lineup Thursday.

Stamkos has missed 45 games with fractured right tibia but his long awaited return will come on Thursday against the Sabres. This has to feel like the best trade deadline acquisition for the Lightning. Stamkos was excellent before getting hurt. He scored 14 goals and nine assists (23 points) in 17 games. He is a tremendous athlete and will probably be able to pick-up right where he left off.

The Maple Leafs have recalled Peter Holland from Toronto (AHL).

Holland continues to work his way back from 'lace-bit' that forced him to spend time in the hospital. He is just starting to get back up to speed and will likely be in the lineup tonight in New York. He has six goals and five assists in 36 games this season (5G / 5A in 32 gms with TOR).

Peter Holland
The Hurricanes have recalled Justin Peters from Charlotte following his conditioning stint.

Peters, 27, was assigned to Charlotte for a conditioning stint on Feb. 19. He was 3-1-1 during the assignment, and has a record of 4-1-1 with a 2.14 GAA and .932 SV% in six AHL games this season. Peters has spent the majority of the 2013-14 season with Carolina, posting a 7-9-4 record, 2.50 GAA and .919 SV% in 21 NHL games.

Justin Peters
Scheifele left Tuesday's game with a lower-body injury and did not return.

Scheifele was hit by Calvin de Haan and appeared to suffer a knee injury. Scheifele did not return for the third period, but this could be a huge loss for the Jets if he misses a lengthy period of time. He will be re-evaluated Wednesday and the severity of his injury will reportedly alter how the Jets will approach the trade deadline.

Mark Scheifele
Khudobin starts for the Hurricanes.

Khudobin stopped 28 of 30 shots in a 3-1 loss to the Kings on Saturday. He has a three-game losing streak while posting a 2.67 GAA and .907 SV%. He enters play in the SAP Center with a 5-4-0 road record with a 2.56 GAA and .919 SV% away from home. He draws a tough matchup vs. a high-scoring Sharks team who have won four of five.

Anton Khudobin
The Coyotes have traded Brown, Rostislav Klesla and a 2015 4th round pick the Capitals for Martin Erat and prospect John Mitchell.

Brown, 23, was a second round pick (36th overall) in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft. In his second season with the Portland Pirates (AHL) he has scored 14 goals and 21 assists (35 points) in 51 games this season.

Chris Brown
The Coyotes have traded Klesla, prospect Chris Brown and a 2015 4th round pick the Capitals for Martin Erat and prospect John Mitchell.

Klesla has found himself unclaimed on waivers on a number of occasions this season. He has not played with the Coyotes since January 14, he has four points (1G / 3A) in 25 games with Phoenix this season. While with Portland (AHL) he had three goals and six assists in 21 games. He will report Hershey (AHL).

The Capitals have traded Mitchell and Martin Erat to Phoenix for Rostislav Klesla, prospect Chris Brown and a 2015 4th round pick.

Mitchell, 27, is a 6-foot-5, 216 lbs. forward who has never played in an NHL contest. He has three goals and three assists in 20 games with Hershey (AHL) this season. He is expected to report to Portland (AHL).
