Elias was injured when he was hit by a teammate’s shot. Following the game, Scott Gomez said he believes that Elias suffered an elbow injury on the play. Head coach Pete DeBoer did not have an update on Elias following Tuesday’s loss.

Jagr was crushed by Robert Bortuzzo in Tuesday’s loss to the Penguins. Jagr suffered what appeared to be a head injury on the play and retired to the dressing room for the night. Martinez has missed the last seven games with a finger injury, but will be back in the lineup tonight as Jamie McBain comes out of the lineup. Martinez has seven points (2G / 5A) and a plus-9 rating in 17 games this season.

Chiarot, 23, has nine points (4G / 5A) in 24 games with St. John’s this season. He has just one game of NHL experience, but could make his season debut tomorrow with Tobias Enstrom on IR with a lower-body injury.

Enstrom practiced today and said after he felt good but would wait & see what the medical staff said about his lower body injury. Appearantley they didn’t like what they saw as they placed Enstrom on the injured reserve list and recalled Ben Chiarot from the St. John’s IceCaps. The move to the IR for Enstrom is retroactive to November 23rd, so he is eligible to return whenever he is healthy.

The Penguins originally called Letang’ injury a minor lower-body ailment, but a groin injury is a little more serious than minor, just for the fact they are so difficult to manage. There is no word on when the Penguins expect to get Letang back in the lineup.

Kunitz must have suffered the fracture in Saturday’s loss to the Hurricanes. He played just 15:26 which suggests he may have left the game early. The Penguins are dealing with a lot of injuries right now, so losing Kunitz for a couple of weeks certainly is not going to help their offence. Jayson Megna filled in on the second line tonight, but expect someone to be recalled from the AHL as well.

Martinez has missed the last seven games with a finger injury and he has been progressing, but there was no announcement that he would be returning tonight. The fact that he is on the ice for warmups suggests that he will play, but we won’t know for sure until the end of warmups.

Quick gave up three tallies on 24 shots in the Kings’ 4-1 loss to the Blackhawks on Saturday. It has been tough sledding for Quick owners in the last week and a half. He has allowed eight goals on 47 shots (.830 SV%) and saw his backup Martin Jones get back-to-back starts last week. Quick draws a tough matchup vs. the visiting Bruins.

Svedberg allowed three goals on 28 shots in the Bruins win over the Blue Jackets on November 21st. Tuukka Rask started the last four games, but Svedberg gets the nod tonight in Los Angeles. He has three wins with a 2.46 GAA and .913 SV% in eight games this season.

Barkov was injured blocking a shot last night. There is nothing broken, just some swelling. Barkov is day-to-day, Shawn Thornton will play with Barkov out.

There is no explanation why Kunitz is out of the lineup tonight but it appears as if Jayson Megna will move into Kunitz's spot on the Penguins second line.

Luongo said that he could have started last night, but with an easier matchup vs. the Blue Jackets, the Panthers went with Al Montoya, which leaves Bobby Lu for tonight in Detroit. Luongo’s numbers in November were nearly the exact same as his October numbers—he went 4-3-3 with a 2.33 GAA and .928 SV% in 10 starts.

Gaborik was on the ice for the Kings morning skate, but did not participate in line rushes and stayed on as an extra. It looks like he will miss his second straight game but his availability this morning is a good sign for Thursday vs. Arizona.

Fleury allowed three goals on 34 shots in Friday’s loss to the Hurricanes. It was an unexpected defeat and just Fleury’s fourth regulation loss of the season. He enters play tonight at 13-4-1 with a 2.19 GAA and .924 SV% on the year. Fleury has a nice matchup vs. a banged-up Devils team who are 24th in scoring.

Mason allowed three goals on 24 shots in the Flyers loss to the Rangers on Friday. After a 46-game shutout, Mason has dropped his last two starts with a 3.94 GAA and .842 SV%. As much as the Flyers are struggling, things haven’t been great for the Sharks either—they are 3-5-2 in their last 10.

Smith allowed two goals on 27 shots in the Coyotes win over the Oilers last night. The win snapped a personal seven-game losing skid for Smith, who owns a 3.19 GAA and .894 SV% on the season. The Oilers are in tail-spin mode while tonight’s opponent, the Flames, are playing solid hockey. On a busy night, there are better options than Smith.

Wilson, 22, was the Penguins seventh round pick (209th overall) in 2011. Wilson has regiestested three goals and nine assists (12 points) in 21 games in his first year with WBS. The Penguins placed Kris Letang on IR to make room for Wilson to be recalled.

The move is likely retroactive to November 28th, which means that Letang will miss Thursday’s game vs. the Canucks as well, because he is not eligible to be activated until Friday. The Penguins called it a “minor lower-body injury” so he could be back on Saturday vs. the Senators.
