Max Domi
Ovechkin (lower-body) has been placed on IR.

Ovechkin exited Monday's game late in the third period after a knee-on-knee collision with Utah HC's Jack McBain. Ovechkin is listed as week-to-week and the Capitals have recalled Ivan Miroshnichenko from the Hershey Bears (AHL). Before the injury on Monday, Ovechkin had a two-goal game, adding to his impressive start to the 2024-25 campaign with a league-leading 15 goals. The 39-year-old Ovechkin was well on his way to surpassing Wayne Gretzky's all-time goal record (894), only 27 away, a feat that could be jeopardized if he misses extended time.

Alex Ovechkin
Stauber has been recalled from Tucson (AHL).

Connor Ingram is day-to-day with an upper-body injury, resulting in Utah HC recalled Stauber from the Tucson Roadrunners (AHL). Stauber has a 2.29 GAA and .930 SV% in seven games with Tucson (5-2-0) and will likely serve as the backup to Karel Vejmelka during Ingram's absence.

Ingram was pulled in Monday's 6-2 loss to the Washington Capitals after allowing four goals on 13 shots (.692 SV%). The 27-year-old Ingram, battling an upper-body injury, should not be sidelined for long, but the rest might do him well, as he is sporting an ugly 3.61 GAA and .871 SV% in 13 games (6-4-3). Karel Vejmelka should control Utah HC's crease during Ingram's absence.

Connor Ingram
Varlamov will start in Calgary on Tuesday.

Varlamov has been stellar lately for the Islanders and will return to the crease on Tuesday against the Calgary Flames. The 36-year-old Varlamov has a pedestrian 2.86 GAA and .892 SV% in seven games (3-3-1) but has been exceptional lately, allowing two or fewer goals in three straight (2-1-0), posting a .938 SV%. Semyon Varlamov
Gibson will start in Chicago on Tuesday.

After a phenomenal season debut, Gibson came back down to earth his last time out, but still managed to secure the victory. Gibson has a good chance of maintaining his perfect record on the season with the Ducks travelling to Chicago to take on the 6-11-1 Blackhawks.

John Gibson

Tampa Bay has outscored their opposition 8-1 during a two-game winning streak and will turn to Vasilevskiy between the pipes for a fifth straight game. Brock Boeser
Bains has been recalled from Abbotsford (AHL).

Arshdeep Bains
