Timonen (foot) likely won't be available on Thursday.

It appears Timonen will miss his third straight game tomorrow. He is skating as an extra at Flyers' practice this morning which suggests that he won't play. However it is a positive sign that he is on the ice, don't rule him out but he is questionable.

Kimmo Timonen
Crawford starts for the Blackhawks on Wednesday.

Crawford turned aside 31 of 34 shots in a win over the Kings on Monday. He has had a great road-trip going 2-0-1 with a 1.95 GAA and .942 SV% vs. tough West Coast opponents. His toughest test of the trip will likely come tonight in Anaheim.

Corey Crawford
Miller in goal for the Sabres on Wednesday.

Miller gave up five goals on 27 shots in a 7-1 blowout loss to the Avalanche on Saturday. He was given the night off on Monday, but will be back in the cage tonight vs. Pittsburgh. Miller turned aside 31 of 33 shots in 3-0 loss to the Penguins last Monday.

Ryan Miller
The Canucks recalled Pascal Pelletier from Utica this afternoon.

Pelletier is 30-years-old and in his first season back in North America since 2009-10. He spent the last three years in the Swiss-A league. In 39 games with Utica this season he has nine goals and 30 assists (39 points). He will play for the injured Chris Higgins.

Gustavsson will practice Wednesday and make the trip to Florida. He left after the first period in Monday’s 2-0 victory over Vancouver.

“He was dizzy, light-headed,” GM Ken Holland said. “Shortly after the game he was feeling back to normal. He’ll practice tomorrow and make the trip. No need to call anyone up.”

Jonas Gustavsson
Lehtonen gets the start in goal for the Stars.

Lehtonen allowed three goals on 24 shots in a 3-2 OT loss to the Devils on Thursday. He finished January 4-7-2 with a 2.79 GAA and .900 SV%. After getting Saturday night off, Lehtonen will be back in the cage tonight in Phoenix. He enters Phoenix with a 11-8-3 road record this season.

Kari Lehtonen
We won’t know until closer to game time whether Alex Tanguay will be in the lineup for the Avs against the New York Rangers tonight.

The Avalanche did not have a morning skate today at Madison Square Garden, so there were no updates given on either player’s status, just that more would be determined once the team gets to the rink later.

Alex Tanguay
We won’t know until closer to game time whether Paul Stastny will be in the lineup for the Avs against the New York Rangers tonight.

Barring a setback, Datsyuk (groin) is expected to return to the Red Wings lineup on Thursday.

Datsyuk has not played since the January 1st Winter Classic because of a groin injury. He has been skating consistently, but has not felt 100 per cent. Datsyuk will captain Team Russia at the Olympics, so there has been a lot of pressure on him to get back to full health. The Red Wings and Datsyuk will decide whether or not he will play after Thursday's morning skate.

Pavel Datsyuk
Predators head coach Barry Trotz says Pekka Rinne (hip) has been allowed to go on the ice. Said he hasn't done much on the ice yet, but has been skating and moving around.

This is the first bit of positive news that we have heard from the Predators on Rinne's injury. He remains without a timetable and may not play this season, but at least he is back on the ice.

Pekka Rinne
Varlamov vs. Lundqvist.

Varlamov stopped 27 of 28 shots in a win over the Sabres on Saturday. He could have allowed six on 15 shots and still walked away victorious in this one. The Avalanche dominated the Sabres from puck-drop and Varly cruised to his 28th W of the season. Tonight he will face a surging Rangers squad led by Olympians Henrik Lundqvist and Rick Nash.

Semyon Varlamov
Bishop will start for the Lightning.

Bishop stopped 28 of 29 shots and had a small dust-up with Habs forward Brandon Prust in Saturday's 2-1 OT win. Obviously he was feeling no ill effects from the collision on Thursday as he looked extremely sharp and was able to take a couple shots while dishing out some blockers. He is a must-start regardless of matchup, so get him in there in Minnesota tonight.
