Avalanche defenseman Ryan Wilson says he’s ready to go. Avalanche coach Patrick Roy said Wilson is almost ready to go.

Wilson, who completed another full practice Sunday and was available to the media for the first time since suffering a back injury Nov. 6 against Nashville, is not expected to play Monday against the Dallas Stars. But Roy wants to play Wilson on Tuesday’s against the Stars in Dallas, assuming he has another good skate Monday morning. Wilson, 26, said he injured his back in a collision against the boards, and he hopes this latest setback is his last for a while.

Ryan Wilson
Semyon Varlamov will start in goal Monday.

Varlamov allowed one goal on 27 shots in 2-1 shootout loss against the Wild on Saturday. It was a strong outing for Varlamov but the Avalanche were stymied by Josh Harding. He will get the nod for the third time against the Stars tonight in Colorado. He is 2-0-0 with a 1.95 GAA and .943 SV% in the first two games.

Semyon Varlamov
Montoya gets the nod for the Jets.

Montoya allowed one goal on eight shots after replacing Ondrej Pavelec in Saturday's loss to the Stars. With the Jets on the front end of a back-to-back he will face the Blue Jackets in Columbus tonight while Pavelec will likely get the call tomorrow in Buffalo. Montoya is 2-2-0 with a 2.50 GAA and .919 SV% in four starts on the road this season.

Al Montoya
Mikael Granlund, who has missed the past nine games and 11 of the past 12 (really 12 in a row because he was lost one shift into his return November 27 against Phoenix, is practicing with the Wild this morning.

Granlund, who has been skating on his own, is skating with extra forwards Justin Fontaine and Mike Rupp, which also indicated that Mike Yeo will return with the same lineup as the Colorado win on Tuesday against the red-hot Vancouver Canucks. Including the Phoenix game that Granlund skated 29 seconds in, the Wild is 5-6-1 without Granlund with 18 goals scored (1.5 goals per game). I'd still be surprised if Granlund plays in any of the next few games just because of his history of concussions, but at the very least, maybe he'll now come on the upcoming road trip to practice.

Mikael Granlund
Sobotka (upper-body) is not skating this morning and is likely out tonight vs. Ottawa.

Sobotka left Saturday's games after he suffered an upper-body injury and did not return. Sobotka played just 9:25 before retiring to the dressing room for the remainder of the night. He has recorded two goals and four assists in his last 10 games.

Vladimir Sobotka
Schwartz is not on the ice for the Blues this morning and could be out tonight.

There is no word on what is ailing Schwartz but his absence from the morning skate suggests that he will not be in the lineup tonight against the Senators. Schwartz has been hot as of late posting five goals and seven assists in his last 12 games.

Jaden Schwartz
Al Montoya working in visitors end and could get call in net.

Montoya allowed one goal on eight shots after replacing Ondrej Pavelec in Saturday's loss to the Stars. He will likely face the Blue Jackets in Columbus tonight. Montoya is 2-2-0 with a 2.50 GAA and .919 SV% in four starts on the road this season.

Al Montoya
Kane (lower-body) is taking line rushes this morning, suggesting he will return to the lineup tonight.

Kane missed the last six games after suffering a lower-body injury in an afternoon game on November 29. He will skate on a line with Mark Scheifele and Michael Frolik. Kane has struggled a bit this season posting just 14 points (7G / 7A) in 26 games.

Evander Kane
Bernier starts against the Penguins.

Bernier allowed three goals on 28 shots in a 7-3 win over the Blackhawks on Saturday. He will get the call tonight for the fourth time in the Maple Leafs last five games. He in his last four starts and an relief effort of James Reimer he has posted a 2.97 GAA and .912 SV%. Bernier will face an extremely banged up Penguins team tonight.

Jonathan Bernier
The Bruins have recalled forward Craig Cunningham from Providence on an emergency basis.

Cunningham has skated in 27 games this season with Providence, notching nine goals (third on the team) and five assists for 14 points. The winger has skated in a total of 178 games with the Providence Bruins from 2010-13, accruing 54 goals and 42 assists for 96 points. Prior to joining the P-Bruins, the 23-year-old played in total of 330 games in the WHL (Western Hockey League) between his time with Vancouver Giants (2006-11) and the Portland Winterhawks (2010-11).

Craig Cunningham
Lehner will start for the Senators.

Lehner allowed three goals on 22 shots after replacing Craig Anderson less than five minutes into Saturday's 5-2 loss to the Kings. Lehner has not recorded a win since November 23, a span of six appearances. Despite posting a solid 2.42 GAA and .930 SV% in 12 starts and 16 appearances, Lehner is 4-7-3.

Robin Lehner
Wisniewski (upper-body) will not play tonight.

Wisniewski will miss his fifth consecutive game despite taking part in the morning skate. He is expected to play sometime this week, so monitor his status on Thursday when the Blue Jackets are in Philadelphia.
