Kari Lehtonen, who's 8-5-2, 2.46, .918 vs. Ducks, is going for Dallas.

The Stars are in trouble without their best player Jamie Benn and their captain Brenden Morrow. Lehtonen allowed four goals on 21 shots in his last start vs. the Predators. He will face a much better offense tonight when the Stars take on the Ducks. One positive for him is that Anaheim will be missing Corey Perry who is serving a four game suspension.

The #Caps announce that they have acquired AHL d-man Chay Genoway from Wild in exchange for a conditional seventh-round draft pick in 2014.

Genoway is a small defenceman at 5'9", he has four goals and 15 assists in 53 games in the AHL this season.

Chay Genoway
Scott Clemmensen gets start for #panthers tonight vs Boston.

Clemmensen hasn't started since last Thursday but will be in between the pipes tonight against the Bruins. This is a tough matchup for Clemmensen, I would not recommend starting him in any format.

Scott Clemmensen
Jake Allen first off the ice. Looks like he's getting the call again. #stlblues

Allen has won all three starts he has made since being recalled a couple of weeks ago to solidify the Blues goaltending. The 22-year-old has posted a 2.65 GAA and .913 SV% in those three starts. He has a decent matchup vs. a mediocre Coyotes team tonight.

Jake Allen
Nabokov in goal tonight for #Isles.

Nabokov was lit up for five goals on 17 shots in two periods against the Penguins on Sunday. It was a bad outing for Nabokov but that can happen when you play the Penguins. He has an easier matchup tonight against a Lightning team who will be missing Vincent Lecavalier.

Evgeni Nabokov
Lindback first goalie off the ice, expected starter for #tblightning against #Isles

Lindback stopped 37 of 39 shots in a 3-2 win over the Panthers on Tuesday. He will be back in the crease tonight against an Islanders team that are two points ahead of the Lightning in the Eastern Conference standings.

Anders Lindback
Lecavalier out indefinitely with lower body injury.

Lecavalier was hurt Tuesday late vs Panthers. At the time we were told he was fine but Tampa Bay is always secretive about injuries. He is likely to go on IR according to the Lightning which means Vinny will miss at least a week of hockey. This is a tough break for the Lightning who will lose their captain and his 22 points in 26 games.

Vincent Lecavalier
Dan Ellis in the starter's crease.

Ellis has yielded three of the last four starts to Justin Peters, but he did stop 31 of 34 shots in a 6-3 win over New Jersey in his last start. He will start tonight against the Capitals who Peters just had a 26-save shutout against on Tuesday. Ellis could be worth a look.

Dan Ellis
Ben Scrivens gets the nod against Pittsburgh tonight.

Scrivens came in to relieve James Reimer on Tuesday and gave up one goal on six shots when the game was already out of reach. He gets the start at home, vs. Pittsburgh tonight where he is 2-3-0 with a 2.64 GAA and .924 SV% this season. This will not be an easy task for Scrivens, I would go with another option.

Ben Scrivens
Tuomo Ruutu skating with the #Canes, not in a non-contact jersey.

Ruutu (hip) has not played a game this season but he is working towards a return. He likely won't be back for at least another week but when he returns he will certainly help the Hurricanes up front. It is not a question of talent for Ruutu it is about staying healthy. Ruutu has missed 106 games over the last five seasons due to injury but when healthy he had 34 points in 72 games last season.

#NHLJets Noel will address the Pasquale recall after the morning skate. Most likely due to illness or injury

The reason for Pasquale's call-up is unknown. He likely will not be the Jets starter, so he holds no fantasy value.

What are the latest updates on NHL player suspensions or disciplinary actions?

Already this season we’ve seen the hammer brought down by the NHL Department of Player Safety. Notable suspensions and fines include Ryan Reaves of the Toronto Maple Leafs who was given a five-game suspension for an illegal check to the head against the Edmonton Oilers, and Los Angeles Kings forward Tanner Jeannot who was dealt a three-game suspension, also for an illegal hit to the head.

In the 2023-24 season, there were a total of 14 suspensions and 17 fines issued throughout the NHL. The longest suspension served was dealt to former-Detroit Red Wing David Perron at six-games after a cross-checking penalty dealt ironically against his current team in the 2024-25 season, the Ottawa Senators. Which NHL players are having breakout or comeback seasons?

Every season there are several players who have breakout years, establishing themselves as some of the best up-and-coming stars in the league. In the 2024-25 season early breakout candidates have emerged such as Dylan Strome of the Washington Capitals (on-pace for his first 100-point season) and Ivan Barbashev of the Vegas Golden Knights (on-pace for career-high in points).

Additionally, nothing beats a comeback story, and that can be said about surging veterans such as Anze Koipitar of the Los Angeles Kings, and Matt Duchene of the Dallas Stars.
