MacLean says Methot won't play tonight. But he did progress in the right direction. Probable for Saturday vs TB.

Methot left Tuesday's game with a knee injury. He will be kept out of tonight's game, but could return this weekend. He hasn't recorded a point in his last eight games, he is not fantasy relevant. Mike Lundin will replaced Methot on the Senators blueline.

Braden Holtby is first goalie off for #Caps

Holtby stopped 34 of 36 shots in a tough loss to the Penguins. He has a fairly tough matchup vs. a Jets team who is on a tear right now. Washington is 14th in the Eastern Conference, seven points out of a playoff spot, so they need a strong game from Holtby tonight.

Mike Smith is expected to start in goal again for Phoenix.

Smith has lost his last four consecutive starts with a 2.59 GAA and .904 SV%. The Coyotes scored just two goals on the four-game road trip, including being shutout in the first three. Smith has allowed just seven goals in three straight wins against the Canucks.

Malkin still isn’t sure if he can play Friday.

Malkin described himself Wednesday as “not 100 percent” and attempted to lower expectations for a return Friday at the New York Islanders. Malkin has missed the last six games. He has played in only three of the Penguins' previous 13 games. They are 11-2-0 over that stretch but only 7 for 31 (22.6 percent) on the power play without Malkin in the lineup. Malkin is considered day to day, coach Dan Bylsma said.

Evgeni Malkin
The Canucks flew off to Phoenix on Wednesday afternoon without forward Zack Kassian.

Kassian, who re-injured a sore back in a fight with the Blues’ Chris Stewart early in Tuesday’s 3-2 win. The Canucks had an extra forward (Andrew Ebbett) for Tuesday’s game, but with Kassian out and if Sestito can’t play the team would need to recall a forward from the Chicago Wolves farm club.

With Joffrey Lupul likely facing a suspension and Mike Komisarek heading to the AHL, the #leafs have recalled Ryan Hamilton.

Hamilton has 48 points in 56 games with the Toronto Marlies this season. He could stay up with the team as an extra forward with Komisarek in the minors.

Ryan Hamilton
Rinne goes for the Preds.

RInne has lost four straight with a 5.22 GAA and .803 SV%. He has a good matchup tonight vs. the Flames who sit 14th in the Western Conference. I know your confidence in Rinne is probably at an all-time low, but he should be able to get back on track tonight.

Pekka Rinne
Pavelec will start tonight vs. Washington.

Pavelec has won four of his last five starts. He could have very well had a shutout in his last start if it weren't for a careless giveaway. The Jets are sitting third in the East and it has a lot to do with Pavelec's strong play. Ride the hot-streak because this is a decent matchup.
