Howden has been recalled because Shawn Matthias is out tonight with an illness. Howden has 13 goals and 17 assists in 57 games in the AHL this season.
Kassian will return to the Canucks lineup after missing their last two games because of a back injury. After a hot start to the season when he was playing with the Sedins, Kassian has struggled to get on the stat sheet lately. He has five goals and three assists in 26 games this season.
Rask has seen his starts slowly decrease with the strong play of Anton Khudobin. He will face the Jets on the road today where he is 7-1-2 with a 1.88 GAA and .930 SV% this season. Rask is a great start tonight.
Krejci took a puck just above the knee on Sunday. He will be out tonight vs. the Jets. Ryan Spooner will assume his position in between Nathan Horton and Milan Lucic.
Frazee did not get a start during his call-up.
Jonathan Quick started last night vs. the Coyotes and stopped all 27 shots that he faced. With Quick starting last night there is no real surprise that it will be Bernier in between the pipes tonight. In his last start he allowed two goals on 22 shots in a winning effort vs. San Jose. The Coyotes are not a good offensive team so Bernier makes a good start tonight.
Kostitsyn turned the puck over in the Predators last game and instead of hustling back on defense he opted to make a line-change and allow the Oilers to go in on a 2-on-1 which ultimately led to a goal. Coach Trotz obviously was not impressed by this, making Kostitsyn a healthy scratch tonight. Taylor Beck will make his NHL debut tonight in the place of Kostitsyn.
With back-to-back coming up, looks like Campbell could make NHL debut. Campbell is 14-10-3 with a 2.59 GAA and .906 SV% in the AHL this season.
With David Krejci not skating this morning it appears as if he will not play. The Bruins called Spooner up yesterday, and it looks like he will slide into Krejci's spot in the middle of Lucic and Horton. This is a great opportunity for Spooner to show that he belongs in the NHL. He had 12 goals and 33 assists in 50 games in the AHL this season.
Burmistrov has been a healthy scratch for the Jets last four games. He will return to the lineup tonight, likely in the place of Patrice Cormier. He has just seven points in 25 games this season.
Laich will in-fact make his season debut on the Capitals fourth line with Matt Hendricks and Jay Beagle. Laich could be a solid pick-up once he gets back into game shape and sees time as a top-6 forward.
Poti will go on IR with a back injury. Dmitri Orlov will make his season debut tonight in Poti's spot on the Capitals third pair.
Michalek is the newest Senator to miss an extended period of time because of surgery this season. He will join Jason Spezza and Erik Karlsson on the IR. Those are Ottawa's three leading scorers from last season. It is amazing that they are still in in fifth place in the Eastern Conference.
Matthias has been one of the lone bright spots on the Panthers this season. He has recorded four goals, one assist and a plus-3 in his last seven games.
Cooke isn't fantasy relevant.
After a sluggish start to the season Holtby and the Capitals have turned things around. Holtby is 4-2-0 with a 2.35 GAA and .929 SV% in March. However he has a very difficult matchup tonight against the Penguins. In two games vs. Pittsburgh this season Holtby is 0-2-0 with a 6.21 GAA and .791 SV%. Not exactly the numbers you want to see when choosing your starting goalie.
Bishop allowed three goals on 36 shots in his last start. Bishop has started to lose starts because of the strong play of Robin Lehner. Bishop has s strong matchup tonight vs. the Islanders, he could be worth a spot start.
Rinne went 1-3-0 with a 3.58 GAA and .866 SV% last week, he was pulled twice in those four starts. He will look to get back on track tonight against one of the hottest goalies in the league, Sergei Bobrovsky. Rinne will need some goal-support if he is going to win tonight.
Pavelec went 3-1-0 with a 2.70 GAA and .915 SV% in four starts last week. He will be in the cage again tonight vs. a very good Bruins team. Pavelec has played well in the month of March (4-3-1, 2.67 GAA, .909 SV%) but this is not a good matchup for him.
Enstrom hasn't played since February 15th because of a shoulder injury. It appears he is nearing a return to the Jets lineup. He was on a point-per-game pace (2 G, 11 A in 13 games) before getting hurt.
