NHL Hockey Player News

As expected, Ray Emery first goaltender off the ice during #Blackhawks' morning skate. He'll start vs. Canucks.

Emery has won all 5 starts he has made this season. HIs 2.17 GAA and .929 SV% rank 13th and 10th in the NHL. He has the tough task of trying to continue the Blackhawks success vs. the Canucks tonight.

Ray Emery
Scrivens does indeed start tonight versus Lightning.

Scrivens shutout Florida last night giving him shutouts in two straight games. He has played very well since becoming Toronto's #1 goalie when James Reimer went down with an injury. He will look to continue his shutout streak tonight vs. Tampa Bay.

Ben Scrivens
Looks like Scrivens will start both games in back-to-back.

Scrivens shutout Florida last night giving him shutouts in two straight games. He has played very well since becoming Toronto's #1 goalie when James Reimer went down with an injury. He will look to continue his shutout streak tonight vs. Tampa Bay.

Ben Scrivens
Lundqvist will start in goal for the Rangers.

Lundqvist has four straight while posting a .948 SV% in those four starts. He has started to look more like the Lundqvist that we've come accustomed to seeing over the years. He has a decent matchup against the Canadiens, but is a must-start regardless of matchup.

Henrik Lundqvist
Pavelec could get the start today for the Jets vs. Buffalo.

Pavelec has now lost four straight starts and six of his last seven. However in his last two starts he posted a 2.64 GAA and .906 SV% which is an improvement over his 3.15 GAA and .889 SV% on the year. He still needs to get better and right now is not a good fantasy option.

Ondrej Pavelec
Craig Anderson will start tonight vs. Isles. #Sens

Anderson has lost 3 of his last 4 starts bringing his recorded to 7-4-2. He has the second best GAA (1.61) in the NHL and the top SV% (.948). Anderson is having the best season of his career however the wins aren't going to come as easy as they did when Erik Karlsson was in the lineup. He has a good matchup against the Islanders today.

Craig Anderson
Carey Price expect to play vs Rangers Tuesday.

Price has missed the Canadiens last two games with the flu but is expected to be back in the cage tonight vs. the Rangers. In Price's last start he recorded a 26 save shutout vs. Florida however tonight's matchup vs. the Rangers will be a much tougher test than the Panthers.

Carey Price
Allen will start tonight vs. San Jose.

Allen has won 3 straight and will get another start tonight after his recent success. With Jaroslav Halak just getting back from injury and Brian Elliott struggling this season the Blues will continue to ride the young goalies hot streak. Allen's 2.77 GAA and .888 SV% aren't great but to St. Louis the three straight wins is all that matters.

Jake Allen
Howard will start tonight vs. Nashville.

Detroit is on a 3 games losing skid heading into tonight's game vs. Nashville, but after sitting out their last game the Red Wings will have their #1 Jimmy Howard back between the pipes tonight. Chris Mason started the front-end of the Predators back-to-back so Detroit will see Pekka Rinne in net for Nashville. Howard has a good matchup as long as the Wings can solve Rinne.

Jimmy Howard
Smith will start for the Coyotes.

Smith had an easy matchup in his last outing vs. the Blue Jackets when he gave up 3 goals on just 20 shots but still registered the win. He has another good matchup tonight when Phoenix takes on Calgary. Danny Taylor gets his first NHL start tonight for the Flames so Phoenix has the upper-hand in terms of goalies.

Mike Smith
DiPietro will start tomorrow for the Islanders.

Nabokov gave up all 7 goals today in a 7-0 loss to the Flyers. DiPietro will start tomorrow vs. Ottawa. He has played in 2 games and has given up 9 goals on 57 shots (.842 SV%). I wouldn't recommend using him as a spot start.

#tblightning will go back to Anders Lindback in net for Tuesday's game against Toronto

Even though Lindback gave up five goals in his last start he finally got a win after losing four consecutive. He will have a solid matchup tomorrow against the Maple Leafs.

Anders Lindback
#Ducks G Jonas Hiller to start.

Hiller hasn't played since February 8 when he went down with an injury. Hiller was not rushed back into action either because Viktor Fasth has been everything the Ducks have hoped for and more. Hiller has a good matchup tonight as Anaheim takes on Columbus.

Jonas Hiller

#RedWings have recalled Jonas Gustavsson and reassigned goalie prospect Petr Mrazek to @griffinshockey.

Gustavsson has yet to make a start in the NHL this season because he got hurt filling in for Jimmy Howard in the Red Wings first game this season. Howard is a workhorse so Gustavsson likely won't be fantasy relevant but could be worth the occasional spot start.
