Ullmark will start on Tuesday vs. St. Louis.

The Senators, riding a two-game losing skid, will turn to Ullmark in the crease for the second time in the last three games after he made his return from a muscle-strain injury. Ullmark struggled in his return, allowing five goals on 27 shots (.815 SV%) in a 6-4 loss to the Vegas Golden Knights. The Senators are scoring 3.75 goals per game thus far but have not received consistent support in their crease. They enter the action on Tuesday as -150 home favorites against the St. Louis Blues.

Linus Ullmark
Joseph (lower-body) is out on Tuesday in Ottawa after returning to St. Louis for an evaluation.

Joseph will not play against his former team on Tuesday as he returns to St. Louis for further evaluation. The 27-year-old Joseph, in his first season with the Blues, has four points (2G / 2A), five blocks, and 13 hits in nine games.

Mathieu Joseph
Merrill will draw back into the Wild lineup on Tuesday in Pittsburgh.

Declan Chisholm will be a healthy scratch on Tuesday, allowing Merrill to re-enter the lineup. The 32-year-old Merrill has been a steadying force on Minnesota's blue line this season, tallying one assist, 10 blocks, and five hits in eight games.

Jon Merrill
Sgarbossa is expected to make his season debut on Tuesday vs. New York.

Hendrix Lapierre will be a healthy scratch on Tuesday, allowing Sgarbossa to make his season debut. The 32-year-old Sgarbossa, with 90 games of NHL experience, played 25 games with the Capitals last season, scoring seven points (4G / 3A).

Michael Sgarbossa
Dowling has been recalled from Utica (AHL).

With news that Curtis Lazar (lower body) will miss some time, the Devils have recalled Dowling from Utica (AHL). The 34-year-old Dowling has primarily been an AHL player but is no stranger to the NHL, with 100 games of experience. He has four points (2G / 2A) in six games with Utica this season.

Justin Dowling
Slafkovsky (upper-body) is expected to return on Tuesday vs. Seattle.

Slafkovsky has missed the last three games due to a upper-body injury but was a full participant at the Canadiens' morning skate on Tuesday and could return to the lineup in the evening against the Seattle Kraken. The third-year Slovak forward was off to an impressive start this season, with six points (1G / 5A) in six games.

Juraj Slafkovsky
Spurgeon (lower-body) is expected to return on Tuesday in Pittsburgh.

Spurgeon missed the majority of the 2023-24 season and has played all but the first two games of the 2024-25 campaign but will return to the lineup on Tuesday against the Pittsburgh Penguins. The 34-year-old Spurgeon has one assist in two games this season.

Jared Spurgeon
Blomqvist was the first goalie off the ice at Pittsburgh's morning skate.

The Penguins are ranked worst in the league defensively, allowing an average of 4.3 goals per game, and are desperate to snap a five-game losing skid. Their most consistent netminder this season has been Blomqvist, and he will likely return to the crease on Tuesday against the Minnesota Wild. Blomqvist owns an unimpressive 3.34 GAA but, given the circumstances, has a very impressive .911 SV% in five games (2-3-0). The Penguins enter action on Tuesday as +103 home underdogs against the Minnesota Wild.

Joel Blomqvist
Ullmark was the first goalie off the ice at Ottawa's morning skate.

Thompson will start on Tuesday vs. New York.

In game eight of the regular season, the Capitals will continue their goalie rotation and turn to Thompson between the pipes for the fourth time. Despite a mediocre 3.28 GAA and .884 SV%, Thompson has been serviceable in the crease, leading the Capitals to a victory in each of his starts (3-0-0). The Capitals enter action on Monday as +133 home underdogs against the New York Rangers, owners of an impressive 6-1-1 record.

Logan Thompson
Gaudette has been recalled from Belleville (AHL).

Due to salary cap implications, Gaudette has regularly been a part of paper transactions assigning him to Belleville (AHL) despite being a lineup-regular in Ottawa this season. Gaudette has played all but one contest for Ottawa this season, scoring three points (2G / 1A) in seven games.

Adam Gaudette
Ostapchuk has been recalled from Belleville (AHL).

Ostapchuk was the 39th overall pick of the Senators in the 2021 NHL Entry Draft. The 21-year-old was held without a point in seven games with Ottawa last season but had a respectable campaign in the AHL, scoring 28 points (17G / 11A) in 69 contests with Belleville.

Zack Ostapchuk
Colton (lower-body) is expected to miss some time after leaving Monday’s game early.

Colton played 15:00 time-on-ice before exiting Monday's 5-2 loss to the Chicago Blackhawks due to a lower-body injury. The 28-year-old Colton was seen leaving the arena in a walking boot after the game and is expected to be out of the lineup for an extended period of time.

Ross Colton
McDavid (lower-body) will head back to Edmonton to be evaluated for his injury after leaving Monday’s game.

McDavid only played one shift on Monday night, exiting the game after only 37 seconds of ice time after awkwardly colliding into the boards. The superstar forward will return to Edmonton to be further evaluated. McDavid, averaging an absurd 1.7 points per game over the previous four seasons, had begun the 2024-25 campaign off to a slow start by his elite standards, with 10 points (3G / 7A) in 10 games. The Oilers lost Monday's contest 6-1 to the Columbus Blue Jackets and will be hopeful for positive news regarding McDavid's injury.
