Edler was injured in Tuesday's win over the Predators and will not play Friday. Andrew Alberts will suit up with Edler on the shelf. He has struggled this season posting just three goals and six assists with a minus-12 rating in 27 games.

Shaw's injury is not expected to be out long-term and could play tomorrow vs. Anaheim. Joakim Nordstrom will draw in as the third-line centre tonight with Shaw out.

Piskula appeared in two games with the Predators, recording no points and a plus-1 rating. With Kevin Klein returning from a lower-body injury, Piskula's services are no longer needed.

Helm will have an MRI on his shoulder where the nature severity of his injury is known. If the shoulder injury is serious it would be a terrible blow to the Red Wings and Helm. He has battled injuries throughout the last two seasons. Todd Bertuzzi will enter the lineup with Helm out, a full report should be revealed later today or tomorrow.
