The Ducks have recalled left wing Emerson Etem and center David Steckel from the Norfolk Admirals (AHL).

Steckel, 31, appeared in 21 contests for the Ducks in 2012-13, earning one goal and six points. Signed to a one-year contract on November 11, Steckel has played in 419 NHL games with Washington, New Jersey, Toronto and Anaheim, scoring 33 goals and 46 assists (79 points) with 129 PIM.

Dave Steckel
Ramo starts on Friday.

Ramo allowed one goal on 30 shots in a win over the Coyotes on Wednesday. It was the second straight start and the second straight win for Ramo. He draws another tough test on Friday when he takes on the Avalanche. He now holds a 3.00 GAA and .898 SV% in 11 appearances.

Stars forward Ryan Garbutt, who took a puck off his lower leg in Tuesday’s 4-3 victory at Chicago, didn’t skate this morning, so he is out for tonight’s game.

Consider Garbutt day-to-day, no word on if he will be available for Saturday's game against Philadelphia. If Tyler Seguin (concussion) is available to go tonight he will replace Garbutt in the lineup, if not Travis Morin will slot in.

Ryan Garbutt
Pavelec will start tonight for the Jets.

Pavelec allowed two goals on 37 shots in a win over the Rangers on Monday. Pavelec has been playing well lately, holding opponents to seven goals in his last four starts. He should make for a strong start tonight vs. the Panthers.

Ondrej Pavelec
Tyler Seguin (concussion-like symptoms) skated this morning at Air Canada Centre and looked great, but he still is a game-time decision because he has to follow NHL protocol and pass a baseline test.

Because of that, Seguin was not made available to the media. However, linemate Jamie Benn did say he is hopeful Seguin can return. “I think it would be a huge deal,” Benn said with a smile. “He’s a good player. He can definitely help us.” Monitor Seguin's status in warmups.

Tyler Seguin
Gustavsson will start Friday.

Gustavsson allowed two goals on 32 shots in a win over the Senators on Sunday. It was his fourth consecutive win and seventh of the season. He is still yet to lose in regulation as he sits at 7-0-1 with a 2.15 GAA and .929 SV%. With Jimmy Howard struggling, Gustavsson goes vs. a low-scoring Devils team.

Jonas Gustavsson
Larsen (undisclosed) will be back in the lineup tonight.

Larsen missed the last seven games after being injured during the Oilers back-to-back on November 15 and 16. He has displayed some impressive offensive talent recording one goal and four assists in eight games.

Philip Larsen
Anton Belov will be a healthy scratch tonight.

"[The rookie] has been thrust into maybe a bigger role than he should be." head coach Dallas Eakins says. "Time to give him a rest for a game." Belov has not recorded a point in his last seven games. The rookie defenseman has averaged 19:32 TOI while recording four assists and a minus-6 rating in 27 games this season.

Petry will be a healthy scratch tonight as coach Dallas Eakins wants to "reset" the player.

Petry has two goals, four assists and a minus-10 rating in 29 games this season. He was a minus-2 in 17:28 in Monday's loss to the Coyotes. The Oilers are making a lot of changes tonight, Corey Potter and Phillp Larsen will draw in on D.

Jeff Petry
Pavelec is expected to start for the Jets.

Pavelec allowed two goals on 37 shots in a win over the Rangers on Monday. Pavelec has been playing well lately, holding opponents to seven goals in his last four starts. He should make for a strong start tonight vs. the Panthers.

Ondrej Pavelec
Helm will not play on Friday because of a shoulder injury.

Helm will have an MRI on his shoulder where the nature severity of his injury is known. If the shoulder injury is serious it would be a terrible blow to the Red Wings and Helm. He has battled injuries throughout the last two seasons. Todd Bertuzzi will enter the lineup with Helm out, a full report should be revealed later today or tomorrow.
