Greiss is off the ice first - he starts.

Greiss will make his second start tonight against the Predators. He has relieved Mike Smith on two separate occasions and carries a 1-1-0 record with a 2.01 GAA and .940 SV%. A quiet night in the NHL makes Greiss an interesting spot start candidate.

Thomas Greiss
The Philadelphia Flyers have traded Max Talbot to the Colorado Avalanche for Max Talbot.

The 29-year-old Talbot, was an eighth round pic in 2002 and has spent his nine year career with the Flyers and Penguins. He won a Stanley Cup with Pittsburgh in 2009. He has one goal and one assist in 11 games this season. We will have to wait until tomorrow to see where Talbot plays in Colorado.

Max Talbot
The Colorado Avalanche have traded Steve Downie to the Philadelphia Flyers for Max Talbot.

Downie was the first round pick of the Flyers in 2005 (29th) overall and spent 2006-09 with the Flyers organization. Downie has had a strong start to the season with one goal and six assists in 11 games. We will have to wait until tomorrow to see where Downie slots into the Flyers lineup.

Cory Schneider (lower-body) back at practice today with Devils.

Schneider has missed the last two games, but is eligible to come off of IR and start Saturday for the Devils. Practicing today is a good indication that he will play, but monitor his status over the next two days.

Cory Schneider
Brian Elliott will play Friday at Florida.

Elliott gave up three goals on 29 shots in a loss to the Jets on October 18th. The way Jaroslav Halak has played early on, Elliott has been held to just one start. He is 0-0-1 with a 3.53 GAA and .881 SV% in limited action. Elliott has a great chance to earn his first win tomorrow vs. the Panthers.

Brian Elliott
The Canadiens have signed Alexei Emelin to a 4-year $16.4 million contract extension.

The 27-year-old Emelin, is a big, physical defenseman who has been a key part of the Habs blueline when healthy. He is not fantasy relevant having posted just 19 points in 105 career NHL games. Emelin participated in his first practice without a no-contact jersey this morning. He is nearing a return from a torn ligament in his knee.

Alexei Emelin
Miller starts for the Sabres.

Miller allowed four goals on 29 shots for his ninth loss of the season on Monday. Buffalo's lousy defense has made it difficult to endorse Miller as a fantasy starter. However he has a favourable matchup tonight, when he will take on an equally poor Rangers squad.

Ryan Miller
Hiller gets the nod for the Ducks.

Hiller allowed two goals on 28 shots in a 3-2 win over the Flyers on Tuesday. The win snapped a three game losing streak for Hiller and was his fifth victory in eight starts. Tonight he will face a tough Bruins team on the road, he is 2-2-0 with a 3.23 GAA and .881 SV% away from Anaheim this season.
