Who starts in goal this evening in Dallas? There’s no morning skate and the Kings don’t announce their starting goaltenders or lineups ahead of time, so it’s not possible to observe who comes off the ice first.

I’m leaning 55-45% in favor of Jonathan Bernier starting on the second night of a back-to-back, but travel and back-to-back games are not firm precedents that determine starting goaltenders in Darryl Sutter’s considerations. Bernier is 7-2-0 with a 1.94 goals against average and .923 save percentage, hasn’t started a game since stopping 40 of 42 shots against Phoenix on March 19, and is yet to face a Dallas team that is 2-0-0 against the Kings.

Jonathan Bernier
Anton was off just before Tuukka today at morning skate. Best indication will be who leads the team out for warm ups tonight at 7.

This is not much of an indication of the Bruins starter. It sounds like we are going to have to wait for warm ups. Rask played yesterday so it could very well be Khudobin tonight. If it his Khudobin, he is 1-1-0 with a 2.54 GAA and .904 SV% in two starts vs. Sabres this season.

Anton Khudobin
#Caps will call up Grubauer to backup Holtby today vs Flyers, Oates said. Neuvirth isn’t feeling well, they’re being cautious.

Holtby allowed three goals on 23 shots in a 4-3 win over the Sabres yesterday. He will start on back-to-back days today vs. the Flyers. Ilya Bryzgalov played very well yesterday so Holtby should be ready to be on his A-game.

Braden Holtby
Jeremy Morin in the lineup today for #Blackhawks and not sure who comes out, because Stalberg also in there. #NHL

We will update who comes out of the lineup prior to puck-drop. Morin has 27 goals and 22 assists (49 points) in 59 games in the AHL this season.

Jeremy Morin
Just confirmed that Mikael Samuelsson and Johan Franzen will both play for #RedWings today vs. #Blackhawks #NHL

Franzen left Thursday's game with a lower-body injury but will not miss any time. Franzen is slowly starting to find his scoring touch lately, he has two goals and four assists in his last six games.

Johan Franzen
As #Caps filter onto ice for morning skate, reminder that they'll face #Flyers' Ilya Bryzgalov tonight. His 33rd start in 35 games

Bryzgalov played very well yesterday allowing just one goal on 34 shots in a 3-1 win over the Bruins yesterday. He will be back between the pipes vs. a Capitals team who have won four out of their last five.

Ilya Bryzgalov
Niemi will start for the Sharks.

Niemi is coming off of shutouts on back-to-back nights on Wednesday and Thursday. He made 22 saves against the Ducks in a 4-0 Sharks win, and followed that up with 27 against Detroit. His 2.14 goals-against average is seventh in the league, while his .924 save percentage ranks fifth.

Antti Niemi
Reimer starts for the Maple Leafs.

Reimer allowed three goals on 22 shots in a 6-3 win over the Hurricanes on Thursday. He will get the call again tonight marking his fifth start in Toronto's last six games. He has a fairly tough matchup against a Senators team that despite a bunch of injuries continues to find ways to win. Reimer is 1-0-0 with a 4.00 GAA and .907 SV% in his only start vs. Ottawa this season.

Who are the top NHL players to watch this season?

There’s never been more talent scattered across the NHL than there is this season. With living legends like Sidney Crosby and Alexander Ovechkin still setting records left-and-right, alongside today’s current superstars such as Connor McDavid and Nathan Mackinnon, the level of talent in the NHL is at an all-time high. What are the latest updates on NHL player suspensions or disciplinary actions?

Already this season we’ve seen the hammer brought down by the NHL Department of Player Safety. Notable suspensions and fines include Ryan Reaves of the Toronto Maple Leafs who was given a five-game suspension for an illegal check to the head against the Edmonton Oilers, and Los Angeles Kings forward Tanner Jeannot who was dealt a three-game suspension, also for an illegal hit to the head.

In the 2023-24 season, there were a total of 14 suspensions and 17 fines issued throughout the NHL. The longest suspension served was dealt to former-Detroit Red Wing David Perron at six-games after a cross-checking penalty dealt ironically against his current team in the 2024-25 season, the Ottawa Senators. Additionally, Perron was fined $148,437.48 for his actions.

How are NHL player performances impacting fantasy hockey?

NHL player performances make a direct impact on the outcome of any fantasy hockey matchup. Staying up to date with the latest news and performances of your team’s players can be the difference between winning and losing.

Some notable fantasy hockey performers that flew under the radar in most drafts this year include Martin Necas (123 ADP) of the Carolina Hurricanes and Kiefer Sherwood of the Vancouver Canucks. While sleeper picks are always a great get, nothing is worse than a bust taken early on. Some of the most disappointing players of the fantasy hockey season includes Zach Hyman (28 ADP) of the Edmonton Oilers and Jason Robertson of the Dallas Stars (33 ADP).

Whether you’re checking out how your current rostered players are performing or scouting for hidden gems on the waiver wire, the latest player news can help you make your next winning move this season.

Which NHL players are having breakout or comeback seasons?

Every season there are several players who have breakout years, establishing themselves as some of the best up-and-coming stars in the league. In the 2024-25 season early breakout candidates have emerged such as Dylan Strome of the Washington Capitals (on-pace for his first 100-point season) and Ivan Barbashev of the Vegas Golden Knights (on-pace for career-high in points).

Additionally, nothing beats a comeback story, and that can be said about surging veterans such as Anze Koipitar of the Los Angeles Kings, and Matt Duchene of the Dallas Stars.
