In three appearances against the Habs this year, Thomas has a 1-1-1 record with a 1.01 GAA, .971 SV% and one shutout.

Guenin has no fantasy hockey value while in the AHL.

Nikolai Khabibulin will start in net for the #Oilers against the #RedWings tonight
Khabibulin lost to the Red Wings earlier in the season, stopping only 27 of 30 shots faced.
Marc Staal on resuming contact drills. "Close, in a few days if everything goes well."
Staal is hoping to get clearance by the end of the week which is a good sign. Still he probably won't get back into a game before February.
Eminger out 8/10 weeks.
Eminger separated his shoulder during Saturday's game and won't play until February. The Rangers are looking at Stu Bickel at that position first but may need to seek outside help.
Injury
Torts says Mike Sauer (concussion) has done some very light workouts but "he's not going to be with us for a while."
Sauer won't play for the Rangers for quite a while after taking a huge hit from Dion Phaneuf. The oft-injured defenseman is working out which is a good sign for the concussion-like symptoms.
Torts says LW Wojtek Wolski (sports hernia) is a "week to 10 days" away from being able to return.
Wolski will rejoin an already crowded forward corps when he returns. The scoring winger only registered two assists through six games before getting hurt.
Jeff Woywitka will be a game-day decision tomorrow based on his left ankle/foot.
Woywitka was injured blocking a shot this morning and is questionable for tomorrow's tilt. If he can't play, Tim Erixon will draw back into the lineup.

Dubinsky-Richards-Callahan
Dubinsky stays on a scoring line after centering a checking line for most of the month. Despite his lucrative contract, the gritty forward has only one goal on the season.

Tim Erixon is coming back from Connecticut (AHL) on an emergency basis
Erixon will only play if Jeff Woywitka is unavailable. Otherwise, expect him to go back to Connecticut.

Anisimov practiced with his usual line and appears to be over his sickness. The former 2nd round pick is likely to increase his points totals for the third consecutive season.

Dave Steckel out again tonight. Either Rosehill or Orr draw in.
Steckel did not play Saturday and won't play in tonight's game. Check back for a further update on the faceoff specialist.

Kostitsyn moves back to the third line and should be able to develop chemistry with Eller and Leblanc. The former 10th overall pick has nine goals and 14 points through 23 games.

Moen draws back into the lineup and will play on the top line. The former member of the 'Zero line' already has more goals than last season with eight.

In the 2023-24 season, there were a total of 14 suspensions and 17 fines issued throughout the NHL. The longest suspension served was dealt to former-Detroit Red Wing David Perron at six-games after a cross-checking penalty dealt ironically against his current team in the 2024-25 season, the Ottawa Senators. Additionally, Perron was fined $148,437.48 for his actions.
