Fantastic sign for Giroux, who has been sidelined for over a week with a concussion. The top-line center has been skating and working out without symptoms which can only mean good things.

Looks like Briere will move up to center Jagr and Hartnell.
Briere's value gets a boost by moving up to the top line. The Gatineau, Quebec native has nine goals and 24 points on the season and should continue to produce.
Mike Richards wore a red no-contact jersey later in practice, but John Stevens praised Richards’ conditioning and said he is showing improvement, although there’s still no timetable on Richards’ return.
Richards has been able to workout without any setbacks which is an encouraging sign. While there remains no timetable for his return he should get back into lineup within a month.

The Pittsburgh Penguins have re-assigned defensemen Carl Sneep and Brian Strait to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League, it was announced today by executive vice president and general manager Ray Shero.
Strait was injured in his one game with the Pens. He likely needs some conditioning before getting the call back to the club.

In the 2023-24 season, there were a total of 14 suspensions and 17 fines issued throughout the NHL. The longest suspension served was dealt to former-Detroit Red Wing David Perron at six-games after a cross-checking penalty dealt ironically against his current team in the 2024-25 season, the Ottawa Senators. Additionally, Perron was fined $148,437.48 for his actions.
