Marty Biron first goalie off at #NYR practice. Would expect him to start tomorrow at Buffalo against one of his old teams.
In 13 career appearances against the Sabres, Biron has a 8-3-1 record with a 2.82 GAA, .917 SV% and two shutouts.

Martin Brodeur will start in net for Devils Saturday vs. Montreal.
In three starts against the Habs last season, Brodeur has a 2-1-0 record with a 1.29 GAA, .957 SV% and one shutout.
Engelland may play Sat. If not then team will call up player fro WBS
Adding Engelland to a banged-up blue-line would certainly help stabilize the back end. While last season he established himself as a heavyweight, he's barely fought this year.
Park is questionable and day-to-day, per coach Bylsma
Park remains banged up but could play this weekend. If not, expect enforcer Steve McIntyre to stay in the lineup.
Bortuzzo has concussion-like symptoms.
The Pens rookie is out indefinitely with a concussion. If Deryk Engelland doesn't draw in, expect a call-up from the AHL.

The Calgary Flames announced today that forward Roman Horak has been assigned to the Abbotsford Heat of the American Hockey League.
Horak has no fantasy hockey value in the AHL.

Chris Higgins wound has healed enough so that he can put on a skate. Will practice today and should play tomorrow
Good news for the Canucks, who saw two of their better wingers fall to injury recently. Higgins has eight goals and 17 points, the latter of which is better than any forward not named Sedin or Kesler.
Gaustad will be out.
No Goose for the Sabres tonight. Gaustad has a goal and six points over 26 games while centering the fourth line.

Aaaaand Brayden Schenn's upper-body injury is a concussion.
More bad news for the Flyers. Despite being a top prospect, Schenn has never looked comfortable this season, battling a variety of injuries.
While Chris' knee is improving, he has struggled with other issues that are concussion-like symptoms. Chris will see Dr. Joe Maroon and Dr. Mickey Collins on Wednesday, December 14th in Pittsburgh for further evaluation. Chris will be out indefinetly.

Volchenkov may miss a few games, forcing the Devils to promote two defenders this morning.

Reimer lost his only career start against the Caps, stopping 39 of 41 shots faced.

GLENDALE, ARIZONA --- Phoenix Coyotes General Manager Don Maloney announced today the Coyotes have assigned defenseman Chris Summers to the Portland Pirates, the Coyotes American Hockey League affiliate (AHL).
Summers was not needed with veteran Michal Rozsival getting back into the lineup. He had no points in two games with the Yotes.
Pitkanen has been sent back to Raleigh, Rutherford says, so will miss Leafs game. Pitkanen still day-to-day with upper-body injury.
Pitkanen was unable to play in the Canes last game and was a late scratch. It sounds like he will miss at least one game and that veteran Jaroslav Spacek will fill in for him.

In the 2023-24 season, there were a total of 14 suspensions and 17 fines issued throughout the NHL. The longest suspension served was dealt to former-Detroit Red Wing David Perron at six-games after a cross-checking penalty dealt ironically against his current team in the 2024-25 season, the Ottawa Senators. Additionally, Perron was fined $148,437.48 for his actions.
