He appeared to lead with his elbow when hitting Brad Marchand in the head during the second period. The Boston Bruins winger grabbed his head and slowly dropped to the ice. Marchand had to be helped to the dressing room and the Bruins announced during the third period that he was not returning for the night. There was no update on his condition after the game. Volchenkov received a five-minute major and game misconduct.
