Kostitsyn gets back into the lineup for the first time since November 29th. The Bellarussian forward registered only three points in the month of November -- all assists and in the same game.

With Filppula hurt, Cleary gets another chance to produce next to Henrik Zetterberg. The Carbonear, Newfoundland native has five goals and eight points through 25 games.

Emmerton gets back into the lineup tonight after a brief absence. He has a goal and an assist through 18 games.
ST. LOUIS -- Detroit Red Wings forward Valtteri Filppula won't play in tonight's game at St. Louis (7:30 p.m., Fox Sports Net Detroit) due to the deep cut he sustained on his lower right shin Sunday in Colorado.
Filppula was unable to stay in yesterday's game and is questionable for tomorrow. The Finnish forward has eight goals and 21 points through 25 games as he establishes himself as one of the better threats on the Red Wings. Expect him to draw back in shortly.

ST. LOUIS – St. Louis Blues Executive Vice President and General Manager Doug Armstrong announced Tuesday the club has activated defenseman Carlo Colaiacovo and forward Evgeny Grachev from Injured Reserve.
Grachev may return to the lineup tonight and while Ryan Reaves is pushed out of the lineup. He totaled two assists over 17 games prior to getting hurt.

The sophomore comes out of the lineup with the blue line fully healthy. He has two assists through 10 games under coach Hitchcock.

Antropov remains out of the lineup. The hulking forward is scoring at a decent rate with four goals and 15 points in 22 games. Expect him to get back in within the next week or two.

Injury
Hendricks did not play at all in the third period of the Caps' 5-4 loss at BankAtlantic Center and then was not on the ice for Tuesday's practice. A team spokesman said he's day-to-day but did not disclose what type of injury Hendricks is dealing with.
Hendricks is the team's resident tough guy but was also a favorite of former coach Bruce Boudreau. It will be interesting to see how he is used moving forward.

Brouwer gets pushed down a line to the second unit. Through his first 26 games with the Caps, Brouwer has seven goals and 14 points but was a minus-2 last night.

Not only did Semin take line rushes this morning, he was placed on the top line. If this line change can't get him going, it's hard to imagine what will.

Pacioretty returns to the lineup and will play on the top line. The sniper still leads the team with 10 goals and is second to only Tomas Plekanec with 19 points. If he's for whatever reason available in your fantasy hockey league, grab him immediately.

In the 2023-24 season, there were a total of 14 suspensions and 17 fines issued throughout the NHL. The longest suspension served was dealt to former-Detroit Red Wing David Perron at six-games after a cross-checking penalty dealt ironically against his current team in the 2024-25 season, the Ottawa Senators. Additionally, Perron was fined $148,437.48 for his actions.
