Kostitsyn moves back to the third line, where he will play with Lars Eller. He combined for a nice goal on Saturday night when he briefly took a shift there.

Campoli is taking part in a full practice which could be a sign he's healthy enough to draw in. The offensive defenseman has only played in one game this season.

Pacioretty-Engqvist-Gionta
Pacioretty returns to the lineup and is expected to play on the top line. The sniper still leads the team with 10 goals and is second to only Tomas Plekanec with 19 points. If he's for whatever reason available in your fantasy hockey league, grab him immediately.
Spacek with non-contact jersey.
Spacek skating is a welcome sign but the veteran defender is not expected to return for a few weeks. He has three assists through 15 games and could be a nice addition to their power play.

Gomez also absent.
Gomez is still not practicing which is a strong indication he won't play for a few weeks. Don't expect much from the diminutive playmaker.

Plekanec likely took a maintenance day as the lines weren't changed without him. The playmaker has six goals and 22 points in 27 games, leading the Habs in points.

The Devils called up right wing Nick Palmieri from Albany of the AHL today.
Palmieri gets another crack at the lineup after playing five games with Albany.

Michalek is not on the ice this morning, a strong indicator he won't play tonight.

The Pittsburgh Penguins have recalled defenseman Alexandre Picard from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League, it was announced today by executive vice president and general manager Ray Shero.
Picard coming back to the big team is an indication the team needs a depth defender. Currently Kris Letang, Deryk Engelland and Zybnek Michalek are all questionable with various injuries.
Cold Streak
Stefan Elliott might be packing for Lake Erie right now. He played just 8:57, including 3:38 on the power play. I’ve had several conversations with Joe Sacco about Elliott, and the bottom line is, the kid is 20-years-old and in his first pro season, and wherever he is, the Avs want him playing maximum minutes. And logging just 8:57 with the big club isn’t enough.
If you own Elliott, you should probably drop the youngster as he figures to go back to the AHL.
Center Paul Stastny suffered what the team is calling a torso injury. I didn’t see him go down, but it was in the third period
Perhaps injury is to blame for Stastny's inconsistent play. The playmaking center has only mustered eight goals and seven assists through 15 games. Expect a further word on his status later today.
A FORCE: Ryan O’Reilly collected his third straight multi-point game tonight; has seven points (4g/3a) and is +7 over these last three games

In two career appearances against the Devils, Reimer is 0-1-1 with a 2.87 GAA and .917 SV%.
Filppula, who left the game in the first period, will not return with an undisclosed injury.

The longest suspension served was dealt to former-Detroit Red Wing David Perron at six-games after a cross-checking penalty dealt ironically against his current team in the 2024-25 season, the Ottawa Senators. Additionally, Perron was fined $148,437.48 for his actions.
