Martinez returning to the lineup should help the Kings as they try to get by without Willie Mitchell. The Rochester Hills, Michigan native scored two goals in 16 games prior to getting hurt.
Both Richards and Mitchell expected to miss a couple games.
Not good news for Richards owners or the LA Kings. The Kenora, Ontario native scored 11 goals and 20 points in his first 25 games out West.

Penner practiced on the second line and figures to play for the first time since November 10th. The power forward has only two assists on the season.

Fehr is highly unlikely to play tomorrow after missing last night's game. The hometown kid has an assist in five games.

Festerling could be close to returning to the lineup. While he figures to draw back into the lineup, he holds no fantasy hockey value.
Lastly, #winnipegjets D Dustin Byfuglien missed practice and will be a game-time decision on Sat, according to Claude Noel.
Check back for a further update on Byfuglien. The big defender is enjoying his first season with the Jets, scoring five goals and 17 points in 25 games.
Goalie Start
Jimmy Howard will make his 17th consecutive start in goal tonight for Detroit, which is seeking its seventh win in a row.
In two career appearances against the Sabres, Howard is 1-0-0 record with a 2.05 GAA and .927 SV%.
Andrei Markov plan to play on that trip. The fact that he's not playing is the result of a setback that occurs this week. No green light.
Bad news for Markov owners, who knew they were in for a long wait. At this point all you can do is wait and hope he returns within this calendar year.
Line Change
He also said wing Ryan Shannon will be back in after Wednesday's scratch against the Red Wings.
The power play specialist is scheduled to draw back in but there's no word on who will come out. He has a goal and five points in his first 17 games in a Bolts' sweater.
Goalie Start
Boucher said Mathieu Garon will be in net against the Rangers.
Over three career starts against the Bolts, Garon is 2-1-0 with a 2.28 GAA and .920 SV%.
Line Change
The Tampa Bay Lightning will put a new wrinkle into its top power play unit for Saturday's game with the Rangers as defenseman Matt Gilroy gets a chance to man the blue line.
Certainly a boost for the Bellmore, NY native. The offensive defenseman has six assists in 22 games so far but could see an uptick in production with more minutes.

Perron, who has missed 97 games due to a concussion suffered Nov. 4, 2010 vs. San Jose, will return to the lineup Saturday when the Blues host the Chicago Blackhawks at 7 p.m. at Scottrade Center.
Perron draws back into the lineup for the first time in over a year. He is expected to play with Patrik Berglund and Chris Stewart. Grab him now in case he continues where he left off.

Pietrangelo draws back into the lineup following a bout with the flu. The former 4th overall pick has four goals and nine points in 23 games.

In the 2023-24 season, there were a total of 14 suspensions and 17 fines issued throughout the NHL. The longest suspension served was dealt to former-Detroit Red Wing David Perron at six-games after a cross-checking penalty dealt ironically against his current team in the 2024-25 season, the Ottawa Senators. Additionally, Perron was fined $148,437.48 for his actions.
