Ryan Shannon News

Ryan Shannon will miss 2 to 4 weeks with a lower body injury, per the team #tblightning will re-evaluted when team returns from Xmas break

Shannon has been in and out of the lineup for most of the year but was expected to pick up some offensive minutes. He has two goals and seven points over 25 games.

He also said wing Ryan Shannon will be back in after Wednesday's scratch against the Red Wings.

The power play specialist is scheduled to draw back in but there's no word on who will come out. He has a goal and five points in his first 17 games in a Bolts' sweater.

Shannon and Ritola out

Shannon is a healthy scratch for the second consecutive game. Through his first five games as a member of the Lightning, Shannon posted three assists, with two coming on the PP. He remains a solid bench play in deeper leagues with his specialty coming via PP.

looks like Purcell/Shannon out

Through his first two games with the Bolts, Shannon holds two assists. He was a minus-1 in the 5-1 loss to the Isles, making coach Guy Boucher rotate him out of the lineup. At this point, Boucher is probably just looking for a bit more defensive of a lineup.

That said, wing Ryan Shannon, who played last season with the Senators, likely will get a chance to fill Gagne's spot as a top-six player.

Shannon, a PP specialist by trade, scored a career-high 11 goals last season for the lowly Senators. The Lightning will give him every chance at repeating those numbers if they feature him in a top-6 role but the journeyman would probably be better served on the third line in place of Sean Bergenheim.
