BOSTON, MA – Boston Bruins General Manager Peter Chiarelli announced today that the club has signed center David Krejci (pronounced “KRAY-chee”) to a three-year contract extension through the 2014-15 season. Per club policy, financial terms of the deal will not be disclosed.
Krejci was rewarded for his three-point effort last night with a contract extension. Expect the Czech native to continue centering the top line for a number of years.

Rupp gets back onto the ice but remains a few weeks away from returning to the lineup. Look for him to challenge for a spot on the bottom two lines.
The emergency recall comes after defenseman Andrew MacDonald suffered a right leg injury against the Buffalo Sabres on Tuesday, Nov. 29.
MacDonald has been one of the team's strongest defenders in the past but may have never been fully healthy. Stay tuned for a further update on the injury-prone defender.

The New York Islanders announced today that defenseman Dylan Reese has been recalled from loan on emergency basis from the Bridgeport Sound Tigers of the American Hockey League. The emergency recall comes after defenseman Andrew MacDonald suffered a right leg injury against the Buffalo Sabres on Tuesday, Nov. 29.
Reese scored two goals and 12 points in 22 games with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers of the AHL. He likely won't hold any fantasy hockey value in the NHL.

In 24 career starts against the Pens, Vokoun holds a 8-9-2-4 record with a 2.63 GAA, .924 SV% and two shutouts.
Zubrus was struck with a shot in the ankle with 15:08 left in the third period. He limped to the bench, but returned to play after that and finish out the game.
Apparently the injury is worse after the game and Zubrus will need X-rays on his wounded ankle. Expect a further update on the versatile veteran.

In the 2023-24 season, there were a total of 14 suspensions and 17 fines issued throughout the NHL. The longest suspension served was dealt to former-Detroit Red Wing David Perron at six-games after a cross-checking penalty dealt ironically against his current team in the 2024-25 season, the Ottawa Senators. Additionally, Perron was fined $148,437.48 for his actions.
