Bernier lost his only career start against the Blues, allowing four goals on 31 shots.
#Habs Kostitsyn is going on the trip to Carolina and Philly, but will not play. Martin ruled him out of Saturday vs. Pitt also.
If you own Kostitsyn, keep him on your bench for this weekend. Kostitsyn remains on the IR so he would need to be activated before playing -- which seems like a stretch at this point. Prior to this injury he scored five goals and nine points over 13 games.

#Habs Gill returns to the lineup Wednesday @ Carolina. Spent a couple of nights in hospital with an infection caused by a cut, hky gear.
Gill has one point over 16 games, which should not effect your fantasy hockey roster. However, he should further protect Carey Price and clear the crease for the scrappy Canadiens.
#Habs Markov is taking part in his first "contact" practice. Team PR bracing for Crosby-esque influx of media requests for his return.
Certainly a step in the right direction. However, Markov still remains sidelined indefinitely with no tangible timeframe.

Confirmed Oshie ready to go.
Oshie scored a goal and an assist in his last game, playing through his wrist injury. Missing practice yesterday was just a maintenance day. Keep him in your lineup for tonight's tilt.
Alex Goligoski skating on his own this morning, handling and shooting the puck with his good hand.
Goligoski last played on November 11th and figures to miss another 2-3 weeks. He previously scored two goals and six points over 15 games prior to breaking his thumb.

after Crosby's night vs. Isles, Jagr is licking his chops
Sounds like Jagr draws back in tomorrow night against the Isles. The superstar scored six goals and 17 points over 18 games before succumbing to injury. Stay tuned for a further update on his wonky groin.

Bergfors has played in only 11 of the team's 19 games and has not quite worked out on the fourth line. He holds no fantasy hockey value while on waivers and is probably universally safe to drop.

White draws back in against his former team after missing four games. Prior to getting hurt he scored three goals and seven points through 15 games. He figures to take his normal slot next to Nicklas Lidstrom.

Shannon moves up to the second line where he should see more even strength minutes. In 13 games he registered a goal and five points.

Roloson expected to start for Tampa.
In 14 career starts against the Leafs, Roloson holds a 6-7-0 record with a 2.30 GAA, .924 SV% and one shutout.
James Reimer on the ice for fifth consecutive day, splitting net with Ben Scrivens.
Reimer continues to practice and must be doing so without setbacks. Expect him to get back into a game within the next couple of weeks which should give the Leafs a boost.

Clarke MacArthur appears ready to return tonight. Skating on a line with Tim Connolly and Nik Kulemin this morning.
MacArthur drawing back into the lineup is a welcome sign for the Leafs. His six goals through 15 contests still rank third on the team. Remember to put him back into your lineup for tonight's game.

In four career starts against the Lightning, Gustavsson holds a 1-0-3 record with a 2.92 GAA and .910 SV%.
Signing
Brian Burke, President and General Manager of the Toronto Maple Leafs, announced Tuesday that the hockey club has signed 2011 first-round draft choice Stuart Percy to a three year Entry Level contract. Percy, 18, was selected 25th overall in the NHL Entry Draft by the Maple Leafs on June 24.
Percy figures to stay in the OHL through this year and get a crack at the big club during next year's training camp. The 25th overall pick already registered 17 points through 18 games with the Mississauga St. Michael's Majors.

There was some speculation that Bergeron might not play tonight. His 17 points rank third among all defensemen in the League.

General Manager Steve Tambellini announced today the Edmonton Oilers have recalled defenceman Alex Plante and assigned defenceman Taylor Chorney to the Oklahoma City Barons of the American Hockey League.
The former 15th overall pick registered an assist in his one game with the team.

In the 2023-24 season, there were a total of 14 suspensions and 17 fines issued throughout the NHL. The longest suspension served was dealt to former-Detroit Red Wing David Perron at six-games after a cross-checking penalty dealt ironically against his current team in the 2024-25 season, the Ottawa Senators. Additionally, Perron was fined $148,437.48 for his actions.
