The winger currently scored a goal and four points over his first 10 games with the Caps. Should he not be able to play, keep an eye out for who replaces him on the top line.

Paul Maurice, addressing Jussi Jokinen's injury. Later, though, he admitted that the team would be without him "for a while", so take that for what it's worth.
Jokinen is a vital piece of the Canes offense so losing him should hurt their scoring. Over his first 12 games this season he scored three goals and eight points.

Among the changes at practice was forward Evgeny “Jenny, Jenny, Who Can I Turn To” Grachev on a line with Patrik Berglund and Chris Stewart.
The team practiced without Jason Arnott so we don't know if Grachev will actually play on that line during a game. Check back at some point Friday before gametime.

Semyon Varlamov will start again in net Wednesday night night when the Avalanche hosts the Phoenix Coyotes at the Pepsi Center, coach Joe Sacco announced today.
Varlamov will face the Coyotes for the first time in his career.

Sounds like Barker will be a game-time decision for the next game. He scored one goal through his first 10 games with the Oilers.
Suspension
Andy Sutton gets a 5-game suspension for his hit on Gabriel Landeskog.
Sutton will miss the next four games as the team is now down three defensemen. Expect a call-up shortly.

Simon Gagne is back on the ice for practice this morning, in his regular spot on the first line.
Gagne returned to the top line and should be able to play on Thursday, when the Kings host the Oilers. The team gained one point over their two games without him.

Brian Burke, President and General Manager of the Toronto Maple Leafs, announced Tuesday that the hockey club has recalled forward Joey Crabb from the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League. The Leafs also announced that forward Matt Frattin has been assigned to the Marlies.
Frattin looked solid in his 11 games this season but has not produced offensively. Look for him to regain his offensive touch at the AHL level.

Brian Burke, President and General Manager of the Toronto Maple Leafs, announced Tuesday that the hockey club has recalled forward Joey Crabb from the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League. The Leafs also announced that forward Matt Frattin has been assigned to the Marlies.
Crabb has dominated the AHL with seven goals and 15 points over his first nine games, flanking top prospect Joe Colborne. He should add a more offensive touch to the Leafs third line.

Niederreiter will play in Bridgeport for a maximum of two weeks on conditioning assignment. #isles
At this point we still don't know where Niederreiter fits in with the Isles. The rookie has yet to play in a regular season game after getting injured in the preseason. He could get the full nine games before the team makes a decision.
Blues now saying D man Kent Huskins does NOT have a broken bone in his foot
This news is good for the often-injured Blues. Sounds like Huskins will return within the next few weeks. In the meantime expect Carlo Colaiacovo to man the top pairing with Alex Pietrangelo.

Sounds like Bergenheim could return and replace Tomas Kopecky in the lineup. The Helsinki, Finland native scored a goal over his first four games in Florida.

In the 2023-24 season, there were a total of 14 suspensions and 17 fines issued throughout the NHL. The longest suspension served was dealt to former-Detroit Red Wing David Perron at six-games after a cross-checking penalty dealt ironically against his current team in the 2024-25 season, the Ottawa Senators. Additionally, Perron was fined $148,437.48 for his actions.
