Brodeur was on the ice to face shots at the end of the morning skate. First, it was the team's defensemen who took shots. Ilya Kovalchuk, David Clarkson and a couple other forwards joined in.
Brodeur took shots which is a decent indicator he will recover shortly. However, he is not scheduled to make a start this road trip.
Lamoriello said Sykora had flu-like symptoms, so he stayed back at hotel. There's still a chance he'll play tonight.
Sykora is currently playing left wing on the top line. Through six games this season the Plzen native has two assists. If Sykora can't play tonight, look for Mark Fraser to draw in.

Defenseman Brendan Bell has been sent back to the team's AHL affiliate Connecticut Whale, the team announced Tuesday.
Bell never held any fantasy hockey value and will be replaced on the third pairing with Jeff Woywitka.

Should Glencross not be able to suit up, look for Niklas Hagman to draw back into the lineup. Over seven games with the team, he scored three goals.
One player who wasn't out there, however: left wing Peter Mueller. He remains out with a head injury and won't play Wednesday night when the Avs play their first divisional game of the season, at Calgary.
Mueller missed the final weeks of the 2009-10 season and all of last season with a concussion. The Avs have yet to confirm that he's again suffering from concussion symptoms, though the team has been in touch with noted Boston concussion specialist Dr. Robert Cantu about Mueller.
Doesn't look good for the wounded Mueller. If you haven't dropped him already feel free to return him to the waiver wire.

The Avalanche's young center, demoted to the fourth line for Saturday's game against Chicago, skated with new linemates at practice this morning — Chuck Kobasew and Joakim Lindstrom.
Through his first eight games, the former second overall pick scored a goal and four points. Look for him to bounce back from his demotion.
